x2 what Tubby said. He does know what he's talking about when it comes to welds.
BTW........it was nice to meet you Saturday morning Tubby! Let me know if they ever send you over here to Shreveport.

Nice meeting you too. As long as work stays steady around here, I'll be here. I was told that if things did slow down, I would be transferring to Shreveport to run an office. Not looking forward to it as I would rather be back up around Tyler.

Hey, Tubby sounds like you know you way around the rod. HaHa, couldn't resist, but seriously I totally agree with the low-high, it does wonders on farm equipment.

Here is one my Dad put together a few years ago. He is doing some touchup welding on the railroad spikes. It can pivot in the middle when hitting a stump. When in use, it has a piece of plywood bolted into the frame and usually a bag of fertilizer laying on it for weight. Works like a charm.

Dad retired from a 40+ year career welding after having a stroke in 2004.

Great work. What are you going to pull it with?

Really like the railroad spike version.

I wish it had been that easy for me. It's all good. A tbh'er got a great deal and I got a welder I could use.
