    Green Stain

I want to give an antler a bit of a green color using stain but I can't seem to find any stain that color. I know I've seen wood that has been (or at least appears to have been) stained green so it ought to exist, right? I thought another option might be to add a drop of green food coloring to a clear stain. Anyone know if that would work? Is there a certain kind of stain I should buy? Would one drop be too much for a small (8 oz) can? I know I can figure all of this out through experimenting, but I thought I'd pick y'all's brains first. Hopefully it'll get me ahead of the learning curve. Any help appreciated.

Just buy a green wood stain. If you can't find one then take a decent sized scrap of wood to your local Sherwin Williams. Ask them to take a pint or quart of stain in a plain tinting base and add some green pigment to it. Have them mix it up good, test it on the wood and adjust as necessary. When I worked at SW we did this for people all the time so they shouldn't mind.

I knew there had to be a way. Thanks, Dave.

At Lowes or Home depot there should be a section of colored wood stains. The color samples are by the paint color cards.
