here is a simple but deadly decoy..........
one turkey feather
one survey flag
fishing line
Take the flag off the survey wire,
tie a good knott around the end of the turkey feather
tie the other end to the survey flag wire.
Stick in the ground next to your caller or wherever you need to.
LIke I said, simple but deadly! Have had yotes and cats walk/run right up to it.

has a plan for a cheap DIY furrball from cracker barrel mentioned above. They call it the "The Hammock Decoy"
Works great from what I can see, I broke down and bought the dang mojo outdoors furrball, before I saw VA's plans for the above.

I made one of the Cracker Barrel fur ball things. I bent the rod that I attached it to so that it spins at about a 60* angle instead of flat. That makes the little critter flop around more instead of just spinning around and around. I don't know if that would be a real improvement or not, but it looks more "wounded" to me.

I took a rabbit skin and got a block (4"X4") and hollowed it out stapled the skin to it. Took a copmresion spring ans connected it to the wood and attached all of it to a rail road spike. Tied fishing string to it to "rock" it back and forth. It sat about 14" above the bare ground and the cottontail was pointed up so easy to see. It really worked for us and it was a fun cheap project. I was 14 at the time so no funds for decoys and stuff like that. Now I use the mojo critter. that thing works great!!!!!
