I made this one today for the same purpose, got about $24.00 in it. It will throw a 1/4 pound to 4 pounds per throw, Have to fill it up about once a week but it aint no big thing. I call it "mana from heaven"

They work great, keeps them "busy" and is kinda fun to watch them have a go at it. I use mine with a kenco straight line feeder. The feeder draws them in but it does not throw out a lot of feed at one time. The pipe keeps them there.

The paint isn't going to last long on those, they'll wear it out. My hogs somehow pulled my stake out of the ground and I found my pipe 600 yards away, luckily in the middle of another road. LOL... I'm glad I saw this, need to get it set back up now that deer season is over.

Heck ya! If they were pre-drilled, I don't blame you!

I know 3/8" is what you told me and it's not that I didn't take your advise. It's just when I seen the pipe with the holes already in it, well...I got lazy.

i had one. they do work real good. never thought of the rocks inside, that makes a good point. the corn dust smell will stay there for a day.

I gots 3/16" chain and two swivels on mine. About all they could do is pull the eye bolt through. The pipe I used had the holes already in it and a 5' section added up to about 20 1/2" holes so on Dirtymikes suggestion, I'm gonna plug several.

By the way, you're wasting your time with the paint. It will be gone in a month.

Pretty cool looking thinking about doing something close to that best part about them i like is the paint and the fact that hogs cant break em

Search FnD live hunts, they seem to work well with bringing in the pigs and keeping them there for a while...well at least for a few TC pics and an occasional errant bow shot!
Really, they work well but if you can't get to your ranch often they can empty pretty quick. Do the same thing with a 55 gal metal top drum and you will have them coming in for a while trying to get at all the feed you put in the drum.

The swivel is important. I have had hogs break both rope and cable from twisting.

This type of feeder works great for hogs!

If you dont mind I would like to offer a littel advise. Duck tape a few of the holes. You are going to lose to much corn too fast. It only takes a little bit of corn to keep them rolling it. The longer they are there the better your chances of walking up on them while they are there. I would use two swivils as well. They will empty it in one night with 4 5/8 inch holes in them. It Lets out just a few pieces of corn at a time. You dont want to feed the hogs. Just hold them till you get there to shoot them. Just my experience. Also you can add some gravel in it that is larger then your holes. They will continue to roll it even if the corn is gone. They hear it rattling but just cant figure out why it aint coming out. I got a sow that I heard rolling it on my way out to fill it. She was rolling only gravel when I blasted her.
