    DIY garage storage solution

for all you other suburban guys without a pole barn; I built this loft for $165 and 3 hours, it is 8x8 and holds all my hunting tubs, tree stands, and various other junk. I have my work bench underneath and just put in hooks to hang backpacks/blinds and stuff underneath around the edges. Momma can get her car in there for the first time in years. Momma's happy, were all happy. Thought I would share, I have no plans but if anyone wants detail send me a note.

    Regards, Bryan.

Do you have to be pretty careful with those doors?

I hung a tennis ball to hit the windshield where she needs to stop, and the doors clear. But I am more worried she will take out one of the poles! That would be bad.

          Nice job!
Look at all that wasted space above the garage door.
I used unistrut and pieces of hog panels and put storage above the door. When the door is opened, you don't even see the storage items.
          think about it.....

I can hear the call. "Sweetheart, you won't believe this but I just hit one of those thingies. Where, in the garage isn't that where the thingies are?" Nice project. I made something similar 4x8' with particleboard and put 3 hugh shelves floor to ceiling to get lots of boxes and all the Christmas decorations in one place.

That makes me think of how the seniors had their dorm rooms set up in the Corps of Cadets @ A&M.

Great job. I did some similar shelves that were 2'x8' lagged to wall on the side of garage BUT hung the part away from the wall from joists above with 1/2" all thread so no floor space below was taken up. hung 2 shelves like that on same wall. Maybe if I can get rest of garage cleaned back up I can take pics... hahaha
