Chicago Employees Fired for Not Getting a COVID-19 Vaccine Must Be Reinstated: Judge

Workers in Chicago who were fired for not complying with the city’s COVID-19 vaccine mandate must get their jobs back, a judge said in a new ruling.

City officials violated multiple parts of the Illinois Public Labor Relations Act by imposing the mandate without negotiating with unions representing the workers over the effects of the mandate, including consequences for not getting vaccinated, Administrative Law Judge Anna Hamburg-Gal said in a 78-page ruling dated April 19.

Too little too late. Don't get me wrong I'm happy about it but how many of those folks had a rough few years after suddenly losing employment, it's just madness. This needs to translate into legislation making sure it can't happen again.

The question that comes to mind is where were the powerful unions when these asinine mandates occurred?

It already is law. Federal Code of Regulations under Title 21....but nobody challenged them so they got away with it. And they will try again.

I'll bet all those that were fired and had no income and had their homes foreclosed on and were homeless don't get their homes back or back pay or reparations of any sort.

IIRC most unions were completely on board with forcing the vax. I seem to recall railroad was a big one denying religious exemptions and such weren't they?

yep, the Gubberment really put the scare into people...with the help of the media and doctors. anything that could possible be blamed on cv for a death was. other causes of death were way down.

Nobody wanted to step out of the norm and say the vaccine is your business!
They would be ostracized by the media and panic ridden people.

Agreed the unions were all in for the vaccine. Luckily some case was won and the RR backed off of the vaccine. I was never required to get it or turn in a medical or religious exemption.
