Our very own Portland/LA/Oakland/Chicago right here in TX…..

Street racers took over an intersection on Saturday night in downtown Austin, Texas, prompting some city leaders to raise the alarm about the police department's staffing crisis.

It’s here, good ole ATX has officially descended to the depths of these other S holes. Welcome Antifa, BLM, and other anarchist groups. Sad day for us native Austinites who knew it as a great city at one time.

They did this Saturday and then again last night in Austin. The video you posted is Barton Springs/Lamar. LE is choked out by politicians and upper admin of dept. This is what majority of Austin’s voters want or they would vote differently. LE has zero in their corner - Mayor- City Council- and City Manager (who was just fired for not being progressive enough) are all anti-police.

And you read "But the simple fact is that we need more police officers in this city, patrolling our streets, downtown, and major events. We need more police responding to calls for service. We need more police to reinstate specialized units"

They may need more but they all know dang good and well that's not the problem.

Side note - Austin has been following those other liberal cities for ever. Just 5-10 years behind. Nothing new. Same as America is always +/- 10 years behind EU. Nearly everything we complain about started their first

Austin isn't the only place things like this happen. And I don't know what this kind of activity has to do with woke liberalization.

Walker- big difference now is this was groups from other areas coming to Austin because they know there is no enforcement or punishment. The City Council just walked away from negotiations last week- Austin is down 100s of Officers now and many more will drop paper this week. Shifts of 12 many only have 4 Officers total- now factor in sick and vacation time. Voters are getting what they wanted.

What you won’t see is there were guys in masks walking around with long guns in that crowd and most of the was masking. Also a Travis Co Deputy was actually surrounded and they attempted to eject him from unit- Thankfully he was able to get out of there

Saw this yesterday… the truth of the matter, as mentioned already is voters are getting what they wanted! Until a bunch of folks end up dead no one will even make a fuss about it.

Been that way for several years. Used to live there, love it, and be proud to say "I'm from Austin". Not any more. So glad to be away from that congested, filthy, dangerous, liberal cesspool!

problem is the people that will get dead will not be the people that are ultimately responsible for the policies that are leading to this behavior so they don't give a ****

The problem in the video was very obvious. They clearly hired an officer who did not know how to put his vehicle in drive. He could have solved a lot of problems very quickly.

I'm lost on one point here. It's illegal to carry a long gun in Texas?

Best part is that Allison Alter, city council member, was stuck in it and called 911 where she was on hold for 28 minutes.

She voted to defund police 2 years ago and is one of the main ones walking away from negotiations. She's creating this mess and having to suffer for her decisions.

yep moving 911 from the police has it's consequences

if not for abbott utilizing dps surrounding the capitol area it would be even worse
