Dog question

I have a poodle that keeps throwing up. For a while it was brown like bile. Now it's clear. Vet says he has allergies. Got some steroids and now I have a 'Schwarzenpoodle'. But he keeps getting sick.

Changed foods - same thing
Got de-worming meds - this made the vomit clear instead of brown. So maybe he is getting better.
Moved to mostly canned food with some dry. But still gets sick.

When get gets anxious - barf.
Wakes up from nap - burps then barf.


Any ideas?

Did you change to a sensitive stomach dog food? If you just changed food in general then I would find one that is for sensitive stomachs. This helped my GFs golden doodle.

Give him some white rice and boiled chicken breast. That always works for my dog.

Yes - poodle was jabbed against covid. He won't keep the mask on - so that is probably why he is sick..

Any blood work done? And how old is the poodle?

I'd go to a different vet, that dog continuing to throw up like that is not going to end well. Edit I think one posted above me. If in SA I have a good referral.

Give him a an antacid with Famotidine, main ingredient that's in Pepcid AC. Vets recommendation that helped one of our dogs that would throw up a clear to yellowish liquid almost daily. Try a 10 or 20mg depending upon the dogs size.
