But I totally hear where you are coming from. He is my guy now too.
I have to go see him on a Veterans matter in the Spring. We shall see if he is all glad hands and fake smiles or not.

I had contacted his office prior to him being sworn in regarding former Afghan soldier refugees I was helping get resettled here and getting assistance. CRICKETS. No problem, two of my main contacts have already blown their brains out so its not like it was a pressing matter. They just fought for our country and theirs is all and had their families rounded up by the Taliban after being told they were put on planes.

I have an acquaintance that was in a PTSD counseling group that the Congressmen's brother was a part of. He lives pretty close to me but I have not met him. From what I understand about his character I can imagine there might be a rift there if the brother doesn't do what is right and honorable in Congress.

Im just some idiot on the internet though so what the hell do I know haha.

Maybe JB and KH are going to get removed and clintonized.

Potlickers know that and want their person to finish the term?

I've been thinking about that one since he endorsed McCarthy. It's pretty simple I think. Trump will need swamp support to win in 2024. So if Trump can get some swamp to like him, he wins. Trump will never lose his base.

Now, does that make him swampy? I don't know, but I do know the swamp survives in the "you scratch my back I scratch yours" world. And apart from Charlie Daniels, I don't know of anyone who has gone face to face with the devil and come out on top.

Link, but I know you don't want to read the whole Republicans are chaos article.

"McCarthy privately agreed to more demands from the right-wing rebels that he had previously refused to countenance, including allowing a single lawmaker to force a snap vote at any time to oust him from the speakership, according to three people familiar with the negotiations who described them on the condition of anonymity, noting that they were ongoing and that no final deal had been reached.

The Republican leader had also committed to allowing the right-wing faction to handpick a third of the party’s members on the powerful Rules Committee, which controls what legislation reaches the floor and in what form, according to one of the people, who has been involved in the talks, as well as to opening spending bills to a freewheeling debate in which any lawmaker could propose changes, including those designed to scuttle or sink the measure."

If McCarthy is such a coward that he would agree to that just to be SOH, then I hope this does lead to a different SOH. But that doesn't change my opinion of the absolutely foolish 20 who are making these types of demands for their own benefit. You want to get on those committees, then earn it based on the leadership you demonstrate, not holding the entire House hostage because you're such dip ****S.

This sounds pretty reasonable to me. Makes you wonder who would be against such measures and why? With a republican majority, why isn’t the rest of the party pushing for these changes so they can implement their campaign promises and get the country back on track?

Yeah, we all know the answer.

you are so entrenched in "everybody" is bad you can't see SOMEONE is trying to step up and change the way things are done.

I guess you like the status quo; politicians not paying ANY attention to the people. You completely fit the age old description of crazy; keep doing same thing and expect different results.

But I guess, since you didn't comment on "the deal" it's ok to coagulate with the Dems.

Freedom Caucus better get all that in writing otherwise McCarthy will lie and renege like the swamp rat he is. The GOP MUST have a quick means of kicking his butt to the curb if he doesn't adhere to conservative principles and starts playing footsie with the democrats.

there are tons of incriminating evidence on paper...or electronic files.
A politicians words, even written in blood just means someone just ruined a piece of perfectly good paper and means absolutely nothing.

they have no rules, except Dem to Republican, nor any shame or humility.
