It’s a shame how f’ing stupid college kids have become. And not just stupid but completely dependent upon others.

It's been said before but these interviews are the best argument there is for legal abortions.

I have seen several Beto signs in peoples front yards but not 1 Abbott sign. I cannot understand why someone would vote for that guy.

My dad froze is butt off in comanche texas for a week without power, and he can open the blinds of his apartment and see the wind farm ... none of them were working ...

never mind that these b@stards need power to run the electronics and pumps and motors to even get them started .. they use power before they can make it.

but it's all smoke and mirrors and excuses , all to be blamed on Abbot if he doesn't go along with the "agenda" ...

we were producing electricity cheap ... so cheap these windmills were not viable at the price per kw ... well here we are now and the price is going up and up. and up .... just in time for the windmills to save the day ...

people are so F-ing stupid .
Does the governor control the grid or does ERCOT? I’m not sure how all that works out but I work at a power plant. When the big freeze hit, I was off shift. We lost both our units. With that said, it wasn’t Abbots fault nor ERCOT. It was the people running the plant. They were just not prepared even though they knew it was coming a week in advance. Then when it hit, the guys that were on shift wasn’t even coming in. They should have set up a man camp where everybody stayed on sight. They have the faculties. But the reason we lost the units was from running out of fuel. For some reason they couldn’t get the trains in from the mine and the coal pile only lasted a couple days, not a couple of weeks like they thought.

Most people don't blame Abbott for the failure (At least I don't, and the few folks I have asked tend to concur). But since the failure and today, what has Abbott done to ensure it doesn't happen again? Are any new projects underway? Where are we going to get the power if that freeze happens again? Any winterization done on existing substations (The most critical part needed to manage units going down)?

I am still friends with several people in the power generation industry, as well as power distribution. Almost nothing has changed, except for a couple people removed from the ERCOT board. It's not a matter of if it will happen again, but with all the new electrical demands coming into the grid, when will it happen again.

I know at our plant, they made some upgrades. As far as building new generation plants, pretty sure a lot of the permits come from the federal level. Supposed to be some plants closing in 23. A lot of the gas burners in our fleet are old, probably built in the 50’s. If new ones aren’t built soon, we’ll be like California in no time at all.

You always paint with a broad brush? Next time you need an invasive medical procedure make sure you tell the Doogie Howser looking college grad how stupid he is before he starts slicing. Or, operating the robot that will be performing a big part of the surgery.

I have two college grads that I can assure you do not nor will they ever need to depend on me now that they have graduated and well on their on. One owns his own business and the other is a heart device specialist.

Stood in attendance at a recent Boerne Texas - Kendall County Fair parade.

As the floats and Fire and Law Enforcement folks wheeled by, with Hispanics and traditional floats with their children, ranchers riding horses.......the Beto float rolled by. The folks running that rig, half were elderly lesbians and no one clapped or cheered.

Right behind the Beto float, was the Abbott float. Cowboy hats and a lotta of kids and parents - the crowd cheered clapped and yelled immediately.

Sure must be lonely riding the Beto float on Main Street Boerne Texas USA?

Not many Beto signs and or bumper stickers this go round.

I think the entire USA is sick of what has happened recently - across the board. Schools with curriculums on same sex marriage with graphics available to our 7th graders? Had any of us spoke any of this mess at work - walking papers immediately.

Parents will turn out in droves - as well as many who finally have had enough of this BS.

Before you get all butt hurt, I was referring to the college kids in the video. Secondly, as a whole, the younger generation is lacking. Severely lacking. However, I applaud the job you did as a parent to raise kids that are contributors to society and can function on their own. Too bad they are few and far in between…

So, yeah, it was a broad statement. However, I’m pretty sure that 99% of those that read my statement understood who I was referring to.

I don't care if your kids can cure cancer, graduated medical school when they were 12 or make Musk look poor, if they vote for Robert Francis you are a failure as a parent and they are worthless to society....I doubt your kids would vote for Robert Frances but the statement is true either way.
