Star link was invented to fill this need but when your blowing someone else’s money you might as well go big and stupid. I pray everyone in DC is eliminated one day

This is the type of waste that occurs every time the GOV attempts to “solve” problems for people.

There is not more to the story.

I'm getting fiber right now through CTTC. I believe this bill was passed under Obama. It was to make sure rural people had internet.

They were just at my house with about 1 million worth of equipment just to get the line from the last pole to my house. Had to saw through solid rock for about 300'
Now they run the fiber another 10,250' on the power poles. I have no idea what it's costing them but no way I would ever pay that much.

                Costing me $150

About 26k a mile around these parts, if they are boring it in.
Less than half that if they are running it ariely.
                      Wholesale.
Retail, I had a individual in Dallas pay over 300k out of pocket to run it a little over 700ft.
If it's CAF funding, then they have no choice.
You bid the area and get it, you have to run it wherever they say.
Mostly a bunch of BS in the end, and the money is going right back to the government.
You don't have to look any further than Nextlink here in Texas to see it in action.

Absolutely. My WAG is a $5mil project, leaves $10mil profit and $18mil to line pockets for the contract for the next project.

Dang elementary school less than a mile from my house and we have to put a 30’ tower up to get spotty signal from T-Mobile
