    Nordstream 2 pipeline attacked

    There is not a lot of information going around yet about this, but here is what we do know:

    There were 3 pipelines going from Russia to Germany, Nordstream 1 which consists of 2 pipelines and Nordstream 2 which consists of 1 pipeline.
    1 of these pipelines is down right now waiting on a turbine to be repaired.
    1 of these pipelines is brand new and was recently tested to get it ready to transport gas.
    The other pipeline has been going for quit some time.

    On Monday, one pipeline lost all pressure. Shortly thereafter, the other 2 pipelines also lost all pressure.

    A VERY large field of gas bubbles has been found where these pipelines are at a depth of 200-230 feet underwater.

    Ukraine is blaming Russia for sabotaging the pipelines.

    Scandinavian seismic stations registered 2 explosions in the area where the bubble field is being reported. The stronger of the two blasts registered as a magnitude 2.3 earthquake!

    So how does this effect us? Well, now it doesn’t matter if Europe wants to go ahead and work with Russia or not on importing their natural gas, they can’t through these pipelines. With how strong the explosions were, they also won’t be able to repair them in short order either. So this is, at the very least, going to cause more price increases on natural gas.

    Keep this in mind too.

    This was not caused by some diver going down and planting explosives. The blast was big enough to register as a magnitude 2.3 earthquake. This was a VERY large explosive device, at a depth that most divers can’t get to. So this was carried out by an entity that has a lot of resources. So most likely, it was carried out by a country.

      Or it was an actual accident.

      Now if USA can get off it's butt and ship LNG life would be good. Anyone know if the LNG facility in Texas has been fixed yet?

        This was no accident. Pipelines don’t just explode underwater, especially when 2 different explosions occur within a short period of time from each other. Seismologists have also stated that the readings indicate 2 separate explosions, which an anchor dragging across the pipelines would not cause. Seismic stations in Denmark, Norway and Finland registered the explosions. So this was no accident.

          The allegation comes after both Nord Stream undersea gas pipelines sprang a leak on Monday.

            Here is some info on the size of the field of bubbles seen from this leak;

            A Danish military flight over the leaks brought back striking images from the ruptures, including one showing an area of bubbling gas a kilometre wide on the sea’s surface.
            So the bubble field is a kilometer wide! That is huge! That had to have been a massive explosion to cause a leak that big.

              Thanks for posting that link. I should have done that in the first post. Here are some other links to news stories talking about this;

              A series of unusual leaks on two natural gas pipelines running from Russia under the Baltic Sea to Germany triggered concerns about possible sabotage Tuesday, with Swedish officials indicating underwater seismic activity may have occurred as a result.

                Silly question...but if it's a "russian pipeline" and pumping LNG from "russia to germany"...why is Ukraine the victim?

                  That’s a dangerous thing, a ship , boat , submarine will sink straight to the bottom in a bubble field!
                  Seen a barge sink in one

                      Here's poopsie pants saying he'll end the pipeline if Russia invades.

                      Then what da ya know the CIA had warned Germany of an attack on the pipeline in the baltic sea...can't make this crap up.

                          Man we are shipping LNG out as fast as we make it

                            From the article.

                            Whatever the cause of the damage, it will not immediately affect the supply of gas to Europe, as neither pipeline was operational.

                            The Nord Stream 1 pipeline - which consists of two parallel branches - has not transported any gas since August when Russia closed it down for maintenance.

                            It stretches 745 miles (1,200km) under the Baltic Sea from the Russian coast near St Petersburg to north-eastern Germany. Its twin pipeline, Nord Stream 2, was halted after the Russian invasion of Ukraine began.

                            Although neither pipeline is in operation, they both still contain gas.

                              And with the weakest president in history in office…great.
