Will we see new gun control measures and if so, what do you think they will be?

Pretty earnest statements coming out. Part of me thinks that if they didn’t do it under Obama with both the house and senate, they won’t or can’t do it now without holding the senate. But then I hear things like what Cornyn has stated and I don’t trust the republicans and a dem rep stated yesterday they were prepared to pack scotus and destroy the filibuster. Once they have done those, there is literally no stops in place to slow or restrain.

I suspect they will stop private gun sales without background. Levy a steep new tax on ammo and likely require an insurance policy for gun ownership (similar to car insurance).

But it is a midterm and the Dems are already in threat of losing seats and nothing galvanizes right of center voters more than gun control…

21 or over to buy "assault" weapon. Red flag laws. Longer waiting period for background checks. Ban sale of high capacity mags. None of it will help, but this is what I think will happen.

I see 3 passing the senate
raise the min. age to 21
      red flag laws
      universal background checks
BTW go to GOA web site they have an easy to fill out letter to send to your congressman and senators

I see raising age to 21 buying semi automatic weapons, more red flag laws (that get ignored) and longer waiting periods on buying guns

How about lowering the age for criminal records to be kept, so an 17 year old with mental issues cant buy a gun at 18.

Red flag laws will be our downfall. That's their foot in the door to take away guns.

Scares me the most by far. People should really be freaking out about this.

The part i find crazy is that none of these nimrods in congress realize what a 12g loaded up w 3.5 00 buckshot will do... 18 30 cal pellets per round will do more damage than any ar can in the same amount of time. Might as well be pissing in the wind with these bans

Red Flag Laws have no boundaries. Terrible and scary.

I have a USMC Veteran License Plate on my truck.
I have Veteran on my Driver's and LTC.
I wonder how many "Karens" are going to start freaking out cause of that when the red flag laws get passed?

The 21yr old to buy an AR is probably not a bad thing. I may get hammered for it.
But i think with kids these days i would go for it.

But red flag laws is like opening pandoras box. If we give an inch on this they will be able to take a mile.

It's all a foot in the door to take away guns. If they up the age to 21, what happens when the next shooter is in his 30's? If they do universal background checks, what happens if the next shooter passed one?

They aren't going to just go "aw shucks, well we tried everything we can". They are going to say "See, we told you. We just can't have guns. Period."

It's all a ploy to disarm you.

Red Flags do scare me the most though. They would effectively criminalize gun ownership immediately. You never know what kind of looney tune you may run into that would call in a tip. Best to keep your guns locked in the safe and never to be spoken about.

What happens when we have red flag laws, and there is a shooting? The next step will be to criminalize inaction of others. The government will have their desired nanny state on behalf of your nosey, scared neighbor.

Heck, you already have a couple of "hardcore conservative" types on here calling for everyone who ever shared space with this latest lunatic to be thrown in jail.

If any red flag laws pass, immediately call in a tip on John Wiley Price, She-Jack, Dora the destroyer, Beeto, the entire Dallas City Council and school board, Clay Jenkins, and any other left-wing nutsack.

I'll try not to be too harsh but, hell no!! 18 year olds are not kids. IF you want to treat them as kids then you also have to be in favor of 21 for: voting, getting a loan (any loan including car or student), military (draft or enlist), doing anything to your body (tattoo, gender reassignment, fake boobs, etc.) and the list goes on. Either they are a stupid, immature kid or they are an adult! That is the decision.

I agree this is what will likely happen minus red flag laws.

and we are only going to push the age limit out for purchasing an "assault weapon" but not on other weapons? that makes a lot of sense. guess a pistol with 18 rounds isn't as bad. what a bunch of BS. we shouldn't budge on any of it.
