    I actually quite enjoyed the 2 follow up books...I also finished up Patriots recommended here w/ a similar shtf survival scenario & found it interesting both authors had the returning govt as power hungry / treasonous & finding the thriving survivalists as a threat.

    Off Topic...

    The Kings of Texas by Don Graham was a neat book covering the history of Richard King, The Kennedy's & history of deep S Tx / Mex following the Civil War if you haven't ran across it.

      Local library has a couple copies... 350 pages? It'll have to wait for deer season.

        I've read several hundred post-apocalyptic books and series since one second after came out. There are some really great authors in that genre and there are some really horrible ones as well.
