we as constituents have failed as well… there are ideas that democrats have put forth that everyone should support however since it’s a democratic idea half the country says not only no but hell no… we have failed to hold politicians accountable to work for the good of the people

affordable health care is an example. And by no means do I mean supporting the mess of a bill that was passed. But to think that both republicans and democrats shouldn’t work together to try and make health care affordable to all is crazy…

While I disagree with her on almost everything policy-wise, she is part of a shrinking group I guess you could call "Old School Democrats". With some exceptions like Woodrow Wilson both parties have throughout history believed in the Constitution and our founding principals. The main difference between conservatives and liberals was always the role of government in our lives, the power the federal government should have and the basic relationship between the citizen and the state. That difference is important and has been quite enough to fight about. Now there seems to be more leftists than liberals with a D by their name who reject our founding principals and want to pull the whole thing up by the roots and start over. That is what we face going forward...

I still say that legislation should only pass with70% or more supporty.
If it's good for the COUNTRY, it'll get at least 70% of the votes.
If it's just good for a party, it only gets 50% or just barely more.

That is a double edged sword.. It sounds good now. Real good.
The problem is our government plays the tit for tat game and everything becomes a huge pizzing match.
One side is hell bent on reversing everything the other side has done.. We go back and forth and 30 years later we are still in the same wallowed out hole.. Almost 0 progress gets made.
