    Air traffic grounded yesterday?

    Anyone see this?
I caught a 20 sec news clip by accident yesterday while standing at a parts counter.
Today I googled "Air Traffic Shut Down 1-10-22" and nothing pops up.
Immediately copy and pasted to the Duck, and got a few stories.
The censorship or algorithms or whatever is going on is unsettling to say the least.

I heard it on KRTH this morning, but it was pretty much in passing, didn't seem like a big deal. I don't know if it was or not in reality, but it didn't seem like a big deal here.

What is crazy is that the norks have a hypersonic missile.

Our government probably helped fund it

Our government doesn't have hypersonic missiles (in development). How can we be on the same level as the norks?!

News report I heard this morning on KTRH in Houston was that the sucker was travelling at 10X the speed of sound! That's gettin' it!

China is now giving Biden the middle finger with Kim being the stooge.

Remember when NoKo was all belligerent when Trump was in office? Yeah, me neither.

A ground stoppage can be ordered for all sorts of reasons. At DFW they shut it down due to lightning strikes within 6 miles of the AP as an example.

True, google not populating any news stories on it seems odd.
Maybe google isn't as advanced as the duck though, and didn't understand my search query.....

I know it happened after 9/11, but do you realize how difficult it would be to halt air traffic “temporarily”? Do you realize how many general aviation planes are in the air?

Yes, a localized ground stop can be ordered locally. However, as I read it, the ground stop was for pretty much the entire west coast!!! The local FAA can’t authorize that.

If the Nkorea thing is true, they grounded because our people didn't know korea was going to do a test. Seems like they grounded in anticipation of an incoming EMP from a nuke.

It's looking more likely the powers that be believed a EMP was headed our way a few days ago.

Just for reference, an EMP over the mainland would ultimately result in about a 60 - 90% death rate within a year or so, depending on where you live.

                              Good morning
