San Francisco restaurant now apologizes for asking armed police officers to leave

A San Francisco restaurant that ignited a frenzy when the owner and staff asked three armed police officers in uniform to leave because their weaponized dress made them feel uncomfortable has now apologized for the request, acknowledging that it handled the situation "badly." Greg Liggins reports.

Yeah they are sorry now that their little world is about to crumble. At some point the idiots are going to need to stop catering to the vocal minority and understand who their customer base really is.

The Chief of the PD should have called them and let them know not to call 911 if there is a police emergency since police are not allowed inside.

i cant remember if i mentioned this here but over the summer i went into the local post office wearing our light duty BDU uniform, 5.11 pants and a polo with "police," my name, and badge clearly stitched on the chest. i had my weapon on my hip with my badge next it on my belt.

i was trying to drop something off to ship and the guy at the counter clearly looks at my weapon, looks at me, then says "excuse me" and walks off behind a door.

the manager comes out and asks if he can speak to me away from the other customers. i am still not real sure what its about but he tells me that the guy behind the counter is very uncomfortable with me having a weapon on my hip and asked if i could go put it in my vehicle.

i explained to him that i was on duty and would not be leaving my weapon in my car and as i am saying this a little older lady that works there, smiles and says, "i'll take care of him." and i walked over to the counter and continued my transaction.

the original guy came out and i swear could barely concentrate due to watching me the whole time lol.

i have been in there many times before on duty in full uniform and never had an issue, even with the same guy.

i think in that situation the one that is uncomfortable should leave. no sense in making two people's lives uncomfortable

I wonder how many cups of coffee got spit into at the restaurant?

I retired 21 years ago and we had zero problems with businesses when in uniform. They appreciated the fact that we would stop in if for nothing more than a patrol check.

I've heard similar stories from police friends in Arkansas and in texas. One buddy was UC popo and went to a movie after a shift. Movie manager asked him to remove and put his clipped on pocket knife in his car. He wwaas like um, no. Also I have a gun and showed his creds. Manager was like, fine but no knife. It's not issued by your department. Buddy took his knife out and opening it showed his agency badge on the blade. Lol. Idiots. This was in houston.

Also didnt something similar happen in mesquite
                    And in a texas whataburger......

Buddy in Arkansas said he went into a restaurant in uni and was asked to remove and put his weapon in his car. Na he said and remembered a trooper car in the parking lot. Looking around the restaurant, he saw a UNARMED state trooper eating peacefully. He left.
