I Should Have Taken a PIC

Of all the FOSSIL FUELED powered machinery that is currently being used to build the new Tesla plant south/east of Austin... More pieces of machinery than I could count.. From JLG,s to massive cranes and everything in between!!! It was comical to look at..
This green energy crap is an absolute freaking joke..

And the word on the street is that Bucees will now be adding Tesla charging stations..

Is that what they are building just east of the tollway there? I drove by that on the way to OK last week and DANG! Huge is an understatement.

On my new build plans, I had them put in charging stations in the garage, dueling charging so it will charge faster. I'll always have my diesel truck but my wife probably will buy an electric car. Time is a changin'

I cant think of much worse for the environment than to start filling landfills with depleted lithium after burning fossil fuels to charge the things over and over again. I like Elon's attitude towards the government but these cars are doing nothing good for the environment. Net negative.

I would not waste to much space or money on that junk.. It is going to be just a flash in the pan in the big scheme of things... Here today and gone once everyone that fell for it figures out they have been had... But by then the ones who pushing it will be filthy rich and that is what this "green agenda" is all about anyway... At the point they will just fly off into the sunset in their kerosene guzzling private jets and laughing all the way to the bank...

Pass by there on the way to one of our job sites once or twice a week. It is massive. In the early stages there were over 40 cranes in the air over that thing. Before that all the bulldozers, scrapers, loaders, and excavators. That thing has left one heck of a carbon footprint!

It won’t be lithium, that technology will not get us where they want us to be and that’s the problem and

They don’t have the solution but they are taking us over the cliff headlong

Maybe 3D TV just needed government subsidies to remain in demand like these cars.

I seem to remember about 5 years ago when every TV was 3D capable. Now I never hear about them.

EV's are cool and are here to stay, mostly as toys for the rich and for those who have fooled themselves into thinking they're saving the earth instead of someone's profit margins. But but they go fast, instant torque bruh!

You are right about speed and torque. Being 4900lbs and 4 wheel drive the hook up like no other...
Dang impressive from that stand point but......

Not really that impressive. They can make any car go fast in a straight line. Numerous Pinto's with a LS swap confirm this. For half the pricetag. And put some curves out there, that Tesla turns slower than an aircraft carrier.

Which is why I was looking forward to the Tesla Roadster, that has been promised for 5 years now. Looks like it will be at least another year. Oh and where is that electric truck at?

I drive a hybrid car right now and really want a 1 ton hybrid truck, but no one makes them yet. The want is not for the environment though. As already stated, electric motors put out peak torque at zero RPM. So for any heavy towing around cities or stop and go traffic, the electric motor would help get you moving better than a diesel will. Plus, I like the idea of being able to charge the batteries at home via solar if the grid is down and still being able to get around if the gas stations are all closed.

In the grand scheme of things though, electric vehicles are horrible for the environment, horrible for our electric grid, and really expensive once the battery pack has to be replaced.

All these automotive manufacturers stating they are going green to help the environment know good and well that they are lying and are only doing it for PR reasons, and to get government subsidies.
