Thats the thing. The way they word this is that they are giving you a choice. If you don't "choose" to take the shot then you have "chosen" to voluntarily resign. By choosing to resign, you don't get to earn unemployment. I hope there are loopholes out there and it still just burns me up that employers are doing this.

If that were the case, than any employer could say any employee chose to be a crappy employee, and therefore they chose to resign.

There is no choice here. It's outright blackmail. Do what I want you to do or I will punish you. In your case, I am glad you had a good outcome, and I hope your old company suffers bigly.

Pursue the religious exemption if possible. My bride was told it was not possible and then hers was accepted the same day. Have about 75% hope that it'll stand. Check out the exemption thread for a copy of her letter. She is also going to keep clocking in until they fire her, either way. She will not get the shot.

My wife did this about 6 weeks ago. She got the company wide email yesterday. I’m cautiously optimistic that her exemption will stand. Either way, she refuses to get the jab. We both had COVID last year. She’s an RN/BSN and now a nurse manager. She supervised the COVID testing clinic and tested hundreds of people herself over the last year+. She bends over backwards for her company and her patients, and this is the thanks she gets. Sad, shameful state that our country is in.

My little work buddy got her exemption for religious purposes. She sat down with her pastor & they wrote one up together.

It worked for her.
