It won’t be close, if there was a popular democrat president, it maybe close but still don’t think Texas is ready for extreme progressive Governor. If Democrats were smart they would run a centrist Democrat. However with the buffoon in Washington, the down ballot for the democrat party is going to be crushed and Beto is already a 2x loser.

This is what I'm thinking too, but....
It is imperative that we all go vote (at least once) and take some like-minded person with you to vote too...

Only 2 ways this lying fake gets elected governor of Texas, fraudulent/stolen election or APATHY on the part of conservatives/Repulsicans.

There is no way the majority of Texas think like this POS thinks.

              Gotcha
No of those countries have armed citizens which was his point on the sooner the better comment. That's the way I took his comment.

So you burn the whole neighborhood down. All the talk of "our rights being eroded" means nothing, no one is going to do a thing about it until it hits the fan. You put enough pressure though, something's going to give, to RR's point, the sooner the better.

In 2013, Venezuela stopped issuing firearms licenses. After that, began confiscating firearms. The government disarmed the people. They began confiscating thereafter. Fidel, shortly after seizing power, confiscated all weapons. Prior to that, they were very common.

What I understood his comment to mean, sure let them come take our guns. Maybe enough people will get ****** enough to do something then. I am saying F that, I am keeping my guns. History has shown a majority will give up their firearms, because "it's not really THAT big of deal" or "if it saves just one life". Or some other excuse that shows they have no ability to think critically.

And let's just play this out. Let's say 50% of people willingly give up their guns. What do the remaining 50% of us do?

So no, I am not for giving up even more rights just to "get it started".

You know when America was founded, only about 30% of the population wanted freedom from Britain. About 30% didn't really care one way or the other (The "if it saves just one life" crowd), and 30% or so wanted to remain part of Britain.

There will never be a supermajority. Waiting until there is a supermajority is futile.

If you aren't willing to use them then there isn't the need to have them, is there?

To go with your British analogy, the 30% went along for as long as they could stand because they had livelihoods to keep, just like folks today. At some point things got bad enough to light a fire under them. (Think Boston Massacre and the like.) Until that point, most were content to "sit and watch their rights erode" because that was the easy thing to do. A majority wasn't needed, that 30% took down the world's most powerful army of the time. Eventually something has to give. Do I want someone trying to take my guns? Heck no! It's going to take something to that level though to get enough folks mad enough to fix our woefully broken system. Of course you're probably right, most may just roll over. Sad times we live in.

We are seeing it happen with CRT, boys calling themselves girls, and is resulting in soccer mom's taking back education. That is the demographic to win. Want to get something done fast? **** off a soccer mom.

This next part is not directed at you FVR. Tweedle dumb raised $2 million in just over 48 hours since his announcement.

This is what happens when spineless R's like Abbott run. I can't wait to primary him out.

Matthew McConaughey would whip Abbot’s asp in an election. I would be a landslide. I have some disagreements with him but he isn’t a wack job and he has name recognition. He’s probably as close as you can come to a centrist Democrat nowadays.

I think he has enough money though that he doesn’t need the headache. I went to high school with him. He’s a good guy.

Like it or not our country is becoming more liberal/left. The question is only how far is it going and how fast. Abortion will remain legal, gays will get married, illegal immigrants will get to stay here, we are going to lose our 2nd Amendment rights.

In reality true classical liberalism isn’t a bad thing. The left has corrupted liberalism though….and it’s here to stay.
