    Great resignation

I have seen it mentioned elsewhere and seen it personally. It's hard to fill positions and more folks continue to leave. The folks left have to run double duty and they too start to change jobs or leave. I see this hitting especially hard by the first of the year. Folks will hang on until the Christmas bonus hits the bank and then bail. So with material shortages coming to a head and workforce issues what will the first quarter of 22 look like? Are you seeing issues on staffing and materials? Inflation is not helping either

I thought it meant having a job!

I normally have 12/15 employees this time of year. This year we are bare bones on staff. No ones even interested in working other than some high school kids in the afternoon and most of them are like trying to wrangle cats.

I think you are going to see a lot of lazy turds get their bonus and drag up. I think you are going to see a lot of people who get after it just continue to get after it, and make more money than ever.

I've been told all of the same stuff by restaurant managers, grocery store employees, etc.... I work every day out in my community so I've also seen it with my own eyes. My question is, how are these people paying their bills? Everyone says no one wants to work, no applicants, people quitting, but where are they going? How are they supporting themselves and their families?

This is a discussion the wife and I were having over the weekend. Didn't the extra unemployment money get cut off a while back?

Yes, the "covid" unemployment payments to the tune of an extra $1200/mo. ended a while back. What I don't get is if you quit a job you don't get unemployment. How are these turds supporting themselves if they can't live on the government tit? Isn't there like 10M job vacancies at this point?

I could easily be wrong on this but, the vast majority of those quitting are actually retiring early. The market is doing well. We are all beat down by the constant negativity and insanity over the last 18 months. It would be easy to just say "I'm out. I don't need this".

Yeah, but I don't think we are really talking about those with F you money. We are talking about delivery drivers, workers at wal-mart, restaurant staff, construction jobs, warehouse workers, hospitality jobs, in other words, middle America.

                          Not in most states.

I read a few articles about this a few weeks ago just to see what reasons "they" were giving as to why so many people were quitting their jobs. Besides higher pay (which is always one of the top reasons, so that's irrelevant), they said commute/drive time & being afraid of Covid. So what they really mean is people got used to A) not having to get their *** out of bed every morning to drive to work & B) being able to jack around when they wanted to because they were working from home. Throw in some cryptocurrency investments, and there you go.

It's only the beginning...most mandate deadlines haven't hit.

OSHA getting in the starting blocks.
