    Austin Prop A

So defunding the police caused a sharp increase in crime, insufficient response times and an overall detriment to society in general, so much so that a special referendum has been placed on this current ballot.
Will it pass, similarly to the ban on homeless encampments? Or will Austin vote to keep police defunded?

Why not go for a recall of the counsel members that brought this upon the city?

They used the Police budget to buy hotels for the homeless to live in and have Fire some money for medical calls an transients. Now they need cops. Gotta further tax the people to fund to get same Police force they paid for all ready

It's funny, because I listen to Joe Rogan and he says "Austin did a really good job getting the homeless off the streets"...the first question I asked when I heard that, where did the homeless go?

That makes sense. Not gone, just hidden away somewhere else, until they destroy their living arrangements.

Unbelievable, its really sad, I'm from Austin born and raised, used to be a great city and great place to live. At this point, the idiots in Austin deserve everything they get. Austin's POS mayor is giddy that the idiot voters in Austin yet again told APD to go pound sand while crime is out of control.

This was set up to fail from the start. The Dems intentionally put the other emergency services against the police.

I lived most of my life in Austin. Loved it. Back then it was known to be a flaming liberal city. What that meant was that we were ok with Willie smoking weed and the weirdos going to Pease park to celebrate Eor's birthday (think Winnie the Poo).

Moved west of Dripping springs a little over 10 years ago. When I see what Austin has become it just makes me shake my head. Sometimes I find myself getting mad, then it dawns on it - it's not my concern or problem. Man, I'm glad I'm gone!

Abbot vows he will fill the gap with DPS officers. Bull ****. This is a democracy and the people of Austin overwhelmingly have chosen to live without adequate policing. They want that, thats what they get. Our tax dollars should not pick up the slack. If defunding the police is a problem for you in Austin than it is time to find somewhere else to move because the majority have spoken.

It's a snapshot of the descent of society in general. Primarily from capitulating to and celebrating the mentally ill and delusional.

Da*n right! I don't want any LEO entity to pick up the slack for a defunded APD. Let Austin implode upon itself.

Sounds like Abbot ought to start building a "Loop" around Austin so it can be avoided on I35.

BIG loop, outside the city limits....way outside.
