    Vaccine and Exemption Question

    Hello All,

My intentions are for this to not be a super political thread (I know...wrong place for that) but my question is around exemptions for the COVID vaccine. On what basis are Doctors providing them? What is considered approved versus not approved? I am sure there are some Lawyers and Doctors on here so please feel free to add your two cents (if you can).

    Backstory:

My Fiancé's Employer will officially be mandating vaccination by 12/8/21. If she does not get vaccinated (and serve a 14 day quarantine) by that date she will be terminated. Ironically, she is in HR and on the accommodations team within the company. She is very healthy in her late twenties and has already had COVID and got through it fine. Also, she works from home and does not have any physical contact with anyone within the company.

    As of right now...
RELIGIOUS exemptions will be "accommodated" by an un-paid leave of absence with no end date specified.

MEDICAL exemptions will be accommodated by allowing you to continue your job but will require weekly testing (with the thought that anytime missed due to positive test will be unpaid, that part has not been specified yet).

This is not about pro-vaccine vs anti-vax. I am just asking if anyone here has or knows of anyone getting a medical exemption form to keep their employment while being un-vaccinated? What constitutes as a medical exemption? Severe Anxiety of vaccines or the covid vaccine itself? History of Menstrual issues?

    Thanks and God Bless!

AEthling posted a page on the PACE forum last week. The page was to Bradley lawfirm. Your best bet is to call them, and they can help navigate this covid checkers game.

My opinion, if the company values her so little that they will fire her for not getting the jab, then she should find a company that will value her, or her religious beliefs, much more than that.

Man that sounds like a rough company policy. Good luck! I'm in for answers as well, it's coming for us... my company's just waiting on their contract office to lay out the federal regs officially.

I honestly feel it's all unfolding in real time...I don't think anyone's gonna have an X marks the spot that blankets all concerns.

I think the only medical exemption for 'me' that could possible work would be that the jab has been known to cause anaphylactic shock & folks with severe allergies should consider avoiding the jab. I can prove history & actually just got a new set of epi-pens...STILL, 'I' am NOT ok with taking any sorta continual tests to maintain employment. I'm down right refusing to play into the politics & the idiots who are propagating the fear mongering.

I'm still looking into the religious...I don't take the flu shot & have that refusal on record with my Dr as well. Some are saying if you take the flu jab, then it throws out the claim for covid?? Bottom line, I think every employer is going to handle it differently.

The next 60-90 days are going to be very interesting as we got the Fed mandate on Nov 26th, combined with so many healthcare workers ready to bolt?? I forwarded the Bradley link to my Fed GW buddy & he's gonna let me know what he finds...like several BP folks I know, he is ready to retire if they force his hand.

Are you sure they said their religious exemption is you can just be the same as a fired employee? I would get a lawyer and be done with that one real quick. A worker not receiving work hours and pay for said hours is the same as unemployed. I have been through enough EEOC investigations to know that. Their HR group is worthless if they think they can approve a religious exemption and then effectively fire the employee by not letting them work. That is not how that works at all and your wife should know that.
