    Hospital Adventure

Was admitted to Memorial Hermann hospital Wednesday evening with breathing issues. Before going I did a home Covid test that turned out Negative.
The ER was segregated so all I saw was a couple of what appeared to be broken legs, 3 people from a auto accident, and a few others that were probably sick with other issues. The ER was not full of people and I was admitted I a couple of hours and was Negative for covid.
When I was taken to the room I was told that they were experiencing a decline in covid-19 cases and there were no cases on my 4th floor home for 2 nights.
All precautions were taken yesterday for a day of pulmonary and heart tests on lower floors. Turns out my COPD took me on a wild ride.
I'm vaxxed but was not comfortable initially. My heart doctor was the only one on staff without a mask but he's a free spirt. And got me out of there late last night with orders to follow up with my Pulmonary doc ASAP.
In short, that hospital did a great job in controlling any panic I was experiencing. I didn't get much detail concerning the covid-19 ICU capacity. It seemed to be business as usual except for the battery of tests I experienced yesterday. Food sucked as usual.

    I'm glad you're feeling better.

If I may ask. What is COPD? You just can't breathe? Like asthma?

I am very glad to hear it is on the decline. I have heard this from others, a great thing indeed.

I'll admit to having bought in to the early hype about masks and due to being 73 with heart and lung issues I don't refuse masks or the "vaccines".
The down side is I still work 3 days a week and was sort of forced to work from home for 6 months. That was a big mistake and I returned to work. I'm now left with extremely weak legs and there will be plenty of PT in the near future. It's almost as bad as if I had Covid-19 for an extended period of time and now I have to recover.
While I thought a lot of people on this forum were nuts. I no longer think that at all. Sorry! I just need my 17 year old lawn mowing kid to recover from Covid-19, he's had a rough 3 weeks.
I'm in the commercial HVAC business and we have done research in to building room air filtration systems with ultra lights. So we know the virus particle sizes and the seemingly correct HEPA filtration size. Problem is the fan sizes to pull air through the filter is huge and noisy.
The information we are not able to get is the amount of virus particles it takes to make a person sick. So, it's sort of a lost cause. So, I remain pro mask if worn and fitted properly.
But back to lessons learned, stay active and eat right!

Was fearing this but certainly didn't see it.

A mans gotta do what he feels is right for himself and his own and if someone has a problem with that they can feel free to go take a long walk off a short bridge. We definitely dont need an irresponsible electorate and press looking for ways to make a buck instead of giving it to us straight.

Blockage of airflow in the lungs, generally cause by other diseases, like chronic brochitis. Copd patients usually have a higher co2 level vs o2 level, they become use to these levels, its not uncommon to see o2 sats around 93 percent without supplemental o2.

Which Memorial Herman Hospital did you go to? A friend of mine is a nurse at MH in Kingwood and she says they are full of unvaccinated COVID patients. And they had to bring in a reefer for all the dead bodies! Said all the funeral homes were full!

Were probably to the point where we need to start mobile cremation units to help with the stacks of bodies......

Sure don't want diseases breaking out, now do we.

The misinformation is so bad now I can no longer tell if this is tongue in cheek or someone actually told you this lol.

Memorial Hermann the Woodlands. I did mention that I thought the ER was possibly segregated as in Covid-19 versus not Covid. All I heard was that there had been a drop in cases. I wasn't in any condition to ask a lot of questions.
They wouldn't let my Daughter in the ER but they did let her in the room later with no questions.

Nope. No “tongue in cheek”. Amazing that we can’t even believe our friends in the medical field.
