I wonder what the percentage of M.D.’s have been vaccinated. And I don’t know that I would associate having a PhD with being smart. If anything, I would say I’m some cases it’s just the opposite. It just means they like going to college forever and writing papers and doing research. In my field (engineering) it seems like pretty much all of the smart people leave college after getting their bachelors or masters so they can actually get a job and start making money. Unless you want to be a professor or an author or something it seems like in most fields a PhD is a waste of time.

and low Trump support grew over the period studied. “This finding really highlights
the politicization of public health recommendations,” said King.

“What's concerning is there is a subset of the population that's got strong levels of
hesitancy, as in refusal to take the vaccine, not potential concern about it, and the
size of that group isn’t changing,” said Mejia.

Among the most recalcitrant, commonly cited reasons included not trusting the
vaccine and not trusting the government, while less hesitant groups were more
inclined to explain they were waiting to see if the vaccine is safe. The researchers
believe that different approaches are necessary to address these concerns.

“In all the other levels of vaccine intent we saw change over time. The lack of
change in prevalence of the ‘definitely not’ group implies those with strong feelings
about the vaccine are not likely to change easily,” said King. “Thinking about how to
reach that group and having messaging and incentives that that group will respond
      to is important.”

      That last line is comical.

If you are someone who is in the "not just no, but hell no" category, you're there because you have seen the info on all the adverse reactions to the shots, and you aren't willing to sign up to be a guinea pig on something with that kind of risk associated with it. There's no messaging or incentives that will change your mind. It's not like they could find a different way to say "just get the jab, and we'll give you 1 free year of Netflix" or whatever, and then you'll say, "Hmmmm.....That does sound tempting....."

In other words, the narrative doesn’t suit your agenda...

Very true. Apparently our public health policy leaders think that encouragement from celebrities and gift card giveaways will do it, but this far along I'm skeptical as to how many can be persuaded. People have had plenty of time to decide which risk they are willing to take and they are dug -in.

Throw in lifetime high speed internet(and provide it) and I'll think about it.

I got this text from a ret. dr friend of mine and he got it from the source.

Irma, my assistant, found out about a TR refinery worker who recovered from Covid and then was required to take the vaccine. Now is brain injured, impaired speech and cognition, and not expected to recover.

              From a doctor friend
