It's all just a publicity stunt. I doubt if anything happens to them. They have to leave DC sooner or later. If just 1 was to slip up and get arrested, the rest would come running back. Most of them are just sheep following their leader. Non news event

Yes, this has happened before. They left the state as recently as 2009 in an attempt to prevent redistricting. That was pretty sad as over 60% of the state was voting Republican at the time.

Always have to try and tilt the rules in their favor.
