Royal Caribbean: Guests Have to Show Proof of Vaccination, Unvaccinated to Pay $136 for Testing

Royal Caribbean cruise company released a statement saying that unvaccinated passengers will have to pay testing fees and will be subject to various restrictions even though Gov. Ron De Santis banned companies from requiring vaccine passports through an executive order.

On their vaccination guidelines, the company is saying that passengers will be asked for their vaccination documentation, and anyone age 2 and above who is unvaccinated will be required to go through “multiple COVID-19 tests,” which would be priced at $136 per person.

Royal Caribbean additionally says they would cover the testing costs for passengers age 2 to 15.

“We strongly recommend all guests 16 and older be fully vaccinated. To be considered fully vaccinated, the final dose of the vaccine must be completed at least 14 days before sailing,” the statement reads.

“At check-in, guests will be asked to provide documentation of their vaccination.”

“Those who are 16 and older and do not have or are unable to provide documentation will be considered unvaccinated,” the company announced.

Passengers can provide a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) COVID-19 Vaccination Record Card as an example of vaccination proof.

Royal Caribbean then states that people who are unvaccinated must undergo “Additional COVID-19 testing at their own expense,” and have to go through restrictions based on CDC recommendations, adding that if anyone disagrees with the protocols the cruise line can issue a refund.

The cruise line’s new guidelines also come after a federal judge struck down the CDC’s “no sail order” on Friday, which effectively means the agency can’t require that all cruise passengers be vaccinated.

“Since the majority of our guests will be vaccinated on Freedom of the Seas, there will be venues and events restricted to vaccinated guests only. We’ll do our best to create opportunities for all guests to enjoy their time with us. Please note, your SeaPass card will be required to access lounges, shows, and dining venues, so keep it handy at all times during your cruise,” the company announced.

Some venues will only grant access solely to vaccinated passengers, where people who have taken the shot won’t be required to wear a mask.

Masks won’t be required for people under the age of 2.

Haha, fat chance. I hope the *******s go broke. We canceled a free, very elaborate, and expensive trip to Playa del Carmen last month because of all the silly COVID BS. Wife and I were really looking forward to that trip too, just not willing to bend the knee.

      Screw 'em.

I don’t even understand this from a business perspective
You would think they would just say hey if you don’t have the vac and you test negative welcome aboard!
I’m guessing the folks that board would spend way more than the cost of that test
Not to mention look at how many vaccinated people are still get covid so if you are really trying to stop the bug from getting onboard they should be testing everyone

            Everyone has an agenda though

I don't think that is even legal. How are they getting past Hippa laws?

The question I’ve been asking since this “proof of vaccination” nonsense started. You CAN NOT ask a person private medical information and use it against them, nor is it legal for an employer to ask.

Not only this, now you’re getting into issues with discriminating against individuals (ADA) who, for whatever health or religious reasons, can’t take the vaccine.

This has ZERO to do with “covid”, they’re putting something into your system and they want everyone injected with it.

Ask yourself this, how many times have you been tested for TB? There are thousands of cases of TB in the US every year, its far more deadly than covid and there are MANY who haven’t been vaccinated for it. It’s NOT about covid.

Unfortunately, fear overrules common sense these days, couple that with the fact that common sense isn't very common anymore, and voila, you have the majority of America libtarding to the max.

Old RR, can you provide the link? I'm not locating it.

We've had money tied up in Royal Caribbean for the past year and a half. Cruises have been cancelled, but they won't refund 100%....just keep rolling our balance to another cruise. I'm hoping with this policy change that we can get a 100% refund. We were already just going to eat some of the money, because we figured there would be so many restrictions on the boat...doesn't sound to fun. With five in my family, that is $680 for the testing....not happening. And we are not getting the jab.

HIPAA doesn't work that way at all. HIPAA protects you from having your information shared by others.

It's their boat...they can ask whatever they want. Or they can sink it to the bottom of the ocean. I have no right to get on their boat unless I agree to play by their rules.

I never wanted to be stuck on a boat with 2500 people that I can’t completely get away from if I wanted to without jumping overboard anyway! I know that’s not the point though! This will be a Big test of a bunch of Vaxxers trapped on a boat and seeing how fast they can spread the cOrOna around to each other.

This may not be a issue with the Cruise Line companies themselves but their attempt to appease the CDC so they can get to sailing again. The CDC guidelines for cruise lines basically means adults must cruise without their kids (how would this work out for Disney). Its an almost impossible hurdle for them.
