    Anybody following this?

It's all over the local news here in Colorado.

Johnny Hurley "undoubtedly saved many lives" when he killed a shooting suspect, only to be fatally shot himself by police responders in Colorado.View Entire Post ›

In a nut shell: Crazy guy calls police and sets up an ambush. Arvada officer shows up to investigate. Crazy guy runs up behind officer and shoots him with shotgun. Crazy guy runs back to truck and grabs an AR, hoping more police show up. Good guy confronts crazy guy with AR, good guy shoots and kills crazy guy. Good guy picks up AR off of ground (I'm guessing to make sure crazy guy doesn't have access to it again), another Arvada officer shows up to the scene after active shooter calls come in.....sees (good) guy holding AR, shoots and kills good guy ( thinking he was the active shooter )

Just something to keep in mind if you're ever in that situation, police won't know if you're a good guy or bad guy holding that gun.

I read the initial reports when the Arvada officer was shot, but did not realize the other victim had been killed by the police.

Easy to archair QB this, but that’s a high stress/tense situation all around!

I'm thinking you didn't read any of that. But yes, plenty of libs. But I've met some good dudes at a couple of the archery ranges here.

In the heat of the moment, you have to have a cool head. The officer did not.

No lie. Colorado has some very liberal parts just like Texas. Most places I go in Colorado are very much like minded as I. And if there is an active shooter shooting cops and I came across someone with and AR standing by a deceased person I can almost guarantee my first one down the tube would not be to warn rifleman I was there

Unfortunate but when the other LEO showed up he should have been smarter.
                            Stupid can get you killed.

Yeah, but would you just roll up and cap him without hesitation?
If he really was the good guy(?), and you rolled up, he most likely isn't and will not be pointing the weapon at you, disobeying commands, be a threat or act threatening etc..I would think..?
Lot of cops with a lot of knowledge, very very few have any wisdom imo.
