    Any TBH’ers mine crypto?

    Who mines it?!

What’s your hash rate, and have you found an economy of scale break even point?

I’m Just testing the waters, but may jump in with two feet if I can prove it up and scale it..

I've been mining crypto on and off for 10 years. It seams to pay off quicker when crypto price is in the toilet, and not so much when bitcoin price goes high and gpus become scarce/expensive. It isn't hard to scale things, it's just real tough to get hardware right now. It can take a lot of time keeping miners running, if you have a primary job where you can't watch them, it costs money when they aren't mining. If you scale up, put in some sort of fire suppression system for when one catches on fire, and you aren't there.

If you can afford it, try not cash in your crypto, where it's gonna pay off is in the future. If it was me, I would wait until Gpus can be found affordably again, and get a 5 or 6 gpu rig. Run it for a little bit and see if it's for you. You need to have a technical background to troubleshoot when you have an issue.

I'm working with a group of investors and 'geeks' to explore creating a mining operation in La. Will be using some unique ideas to manage costs including tapping existing gas production. Approach is fairly large scale. Diligence will take several more weeks to complete but includes some very sophisticated entrepreneurs .

I'll be happy to circle back to this later if high level interest. Recent article in Fortune considered crypto mining one of the most profitable businesses on the planet

I had a brief conversation with a 33 year old guy about this at an IAH bar recently. He said he spends about $25K/year on electricity for his mining operation and it's his primary source of income. He was on his way to his weekend home in Merida, Mexico.
