Pretty easy to listen to a few episodes and gauge who he is and his platform.....

Im tired of career politicians and welcome an "Outsider". A child transplant to Texas cant be worse than a politician whos been corrupted by numerous years in office.....

McConaughey is a big no for me.

Id vote Praether unless Allen West throws in his hat; then we have a real debate.

Abbots time playing second fiddle to Libs coupled with his new found conservatism fixing the problems he compounded, while following Desantis play book is exhausting.

Abbott, Chad, Beto or the movie star from Uvalde?

I listened to a podcast with McConaughey earlier this week on his recent book Green Lights. I will say, I think he would be more formidable than I anticipated. He is very relatable and down to earth. What struck me most was his emphasis on earning your share rather than having it handed. It didn’t change my perspective of voting for him, but I can see where the masses would

My guest today is the one and only Matthew McConaughey and I’m sure none of you need an introduction into who this man is. We all know him from his iconic roles on the silver screen but most of us have never been introduced to the depth of his thoughts, ideas, and insight.

No matter who ends up being our Gov. the majority on here will find a reason not to like him by the end of his first term. Goes back to what Playa said, nobody on here has had to make a decision under fire.
            What a fickle group.

Care to describe what you mean by decision under fire? Any true leader is constantly making very tough decisions. I bet there are a lot of people here that have had to make tougher decisions than Abbott has. And they don’t use poll numbers to do so.

When the going got tough for Abbott he caved plain and simple. Up until COVID he was skating along. Spineless twit. And that isn’t a reference to his handicap.

100% agree. He will never be a leader. Allen West nailed Abbott with his tweet today.

What makes him a “clown” in your opinion? Why do you think he’s a fraud?

                    Trump was a TV actor.
                    Reagan was a movie actor.

                    Does that alone disqualify someone?

I don’t know about his political views enough to make a decision one way or the other. I started this thread to find out more about him. He definitely has a following on social media.
Was gonna respond this exactly. I dont know him or his views, but that being a disqualifier is pretty dumb.

My thoughts on Abbott exactly. I won't vote for him in any primary going forward. I hope Allen West or Sid Miller runs against him - just ONE of them, so the vote isn't split. Either of them would be better than Prather, but I'll vote for Prather over Abbott if that's the only option. It's time for Abbott to go.

Chad will get my vote if he’s an option. I’m a big fan of the younger more energetic crowd that haven’t been career politicians.

He’s a character and entertaining and having met him several times, I like him as a person and agree with a lot of his views, I don’t think he would be a good governor or better candidate than Abbott. Just my personal opinion. I could get behind West much more than Abbott or Prather.

I’ve been a fan of Prather for a while as an entertainer. Heard him on a radio interview a couple of weeks ago and his biggest platform was getting common folks involved, local elections, school board, etc. which I’m a fan of. Not sure who I’ll vote for come primary time, but I do know it will be hard to vote for Abbott. And I do like his shirts.

Just curious, why would you be against getting common folks involved in local govt?
