I mentioned this back a few months ago when Defund cranked up, there will be a demand for ex cops in private security forces in certain areas/neighborhoods.
people with the means/capacity are not going to sit around and be victims, that's why they have the means!

Buckhead Residents (Atlanta) are now pushing for their own police Force.
I think its a good thing and i hope that public education takes the same direction.

Makes since to me. I made much more money doing private security gigs for wealth families than I ever did working the streets.

I retired recently. Had a guy offer me $175 year and lodging to watch over his family. It didnt sound like retirement to me so I turned him down and have a guy I know doing it for the family. Had another looking for someone to travel with them. The demand is there. It will increase as crime rates and violent crime goes up.

So the defunding will hurt the lower income folks more than people with money when you break it down

Hog. Those folks are not shocked by the bill. I did occasional overnight gig for a husband/wife. I would be at the house with the nanny and 2 kids. $1k a night does not even make these folks blink- I had a guest bedroom and the nanny had a intercom system if she got scared.

What! If I was able I woulda been all over that. Of course I’m assuming that your on 24/7. So it may be challenging work.

Nope not 24/7. He hired 2 guys and between them 24/7. Sure that is easy money but its still working. I worked around some wealthy people in Austin. Dell was at his Lake house maybe once a month. But he has 24/7 protection there with 2 on duty at all times.

Would the wealthy people pay for legal fees if their private security had to defend himself or the family while on their property? Only asking because I’m curious how that would work.

All the ones screaming about defund the police can go without if that's their desire. The underlying issue is that certain groups don't want to follow the rules and be productive members of society. Let them eat themselves, then when they complain, tough, you asked for it. At some point you, and you alone are responsible for your own condition.

Reality is that at any point and always we are alone and responsible for our own condition. The police are the clean up crew, they will not be there in time to help you defend yourself.
