    More White privilege?

Despite the team's deliberate exclusion of white students from the program, Utah Gov. Spencer Cox said the scholarship requirements are not racist.

The program created by the NBA team allots a scholarship to a new “underrepresented student of color enrolling as a freshman for the 2021-22 school year” for every team win during the 2020-21 season basketball season. To qualify for the funds, students must have graduated from high school and be a “person of color.” Since the program’s start, the team has handed out nearly 50 full-ride scholarships to black and minority students only.

Despite the team’s deliberate exclusion of white students from the program, Cox said the scholarship requirements are not racist.

“It’s not racist. Ryan Smith and the Jazz can do what they want with their funds. All kids should have equal opportunities, and we’re proud of the Jazz,” he replied.

If a white kid trying to make in in to the NBA isn't "underrepresented", then I don't know what is.

I'd pay lots of money to have companies copy programs exactly like this one... Use their exact words.

Or don't make it for just whites. Say for anyone except blacks. It's "xyz" money they can do what they want.

            Isn’t white a color?

I was born 50 years to late. This is beyond ridiculous.

First of all black is not a color. Black is defined as the absence of color. White is also not a color. Both are defined as the absence of color. Every painter knows that.
I wish these morons would get their poo poo together.

People that play the race card are some of the most racist people I’ve come across.

Yes sir spot on with that. We have a few on here that constantly bring the race card into the discussion sure makes me wonder.

I think it’s all those typical sayings... the things that bother you about others are the things you’re guilty of, easier to look out the window than in the mirror, Matthew 7:5 etc.

There is definitely a double standard applied when it comes to these sort of things.
If a team, company or organization advertised a scholarship for white students only there would be more than grumblings on a forum. The lawsuits and protests would be national news.
But other than that I have no problem if under privileged youths are given a chance and a hand regardless of color, or lack there of.

                          Underprivileged is relative and not
                          Related to color/race

                          Only racists don’t understand this
