I quit drinking coke when they put the queers ice skating in one of their commercials.
Also my son was sent to the office for calling a black kid Jamal. It “offended” him. So when the principal called me about it, I asked her if she had ever disciplined a minority student for referring to any white kid as “Karen”. She replied “no”. I quickly let her know that there is NO DIFFERENCE in the use of either and that until she started reprimanding every student, she has no place to discipline just the white kids.

It's pretty sad, as she is the epitome of " White privilege "..
We are all trying to figure out how to deal with it because she is
Alone in her beliefs...
As far as famila - if she actually has an example of your family being systemically racist, be prepared to say you don't make friends or decide who to do business with based on skin color - you base it on content of character.

Btw, my mom picked cotton, no running water growing up, rode in a wagon, lived in a shotgun house with newspaper stuck up on the walls for insulation, mentally ill mom with an alcoholic father. She survived that and went on to serve people in nursing as an LVN. She worked shift work as long as I can remember, had three children. We were poor but clean. She died at 89. That was seven years ago.
My dad was raised in El Campo. He joined the Navy right before turning 18. He served on the USS Oklahoma in Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. Stayed in for the duration of WWII.
He met and married my mom in 1950. We left ElCamp and came to Houston in a 1951 Chevy. I think that was in 1960 or 61. He found a better paying job there. He was making almost $4.00 an hour as a laborer. Worked there 29 years and retired. He passed away in 2010 at age 88.
Both my parents lived through the Great Depression as well. In the 70,s my dad was layed off or cut back for a while. The union gave us bread and cheese blocks. At age 78 moms health caught up with her. My dad took care of her for the remaining eight years of his life. There is not a day that goes by that I don’t think about them in one way or another. My mom was English and my dads people were Scottish. Ever heard of Fraser Castle in Scotland?
I’m forever indebted to God for giving me parents that instilled An ethic of hard work, perseverance, toughness, love of country, and faith in God to me. God created me white and I’m not ashamed. I won’t be shamed nor will I shame anyone else for their color.

To try and force us to identify ourselves by race in and of itself is racist. It perpetuates a division among us that we can’t get past. We are Americans and that is all we are.
