Affirmative Action in the Crosshairs

The Justice Department's Civil Rights Division said in 2017 that it would probe and sue universities over affirmative action policies.

Today the DOJ sued Yale for discriminating against Asian-American and white undergraduate applicants.

I've never been an end-justifies-the-means type and it has always bothered me that a solution to race-based discrimination is race-based discrimination (affirmative action).

From the article in the Wall Street Journal:
“Because Yale claims that its race discrimination is necessary to admit sufficient numbers of racially-favored applicants, mostly Black and Hispanic applicants, Yale signals that racially-favored applicants cannot compete against Asian and White applicants,” the lawsuit said. “This kind of race discrimination relies upon and reinforces damaging race-based stereotypes.”

This is exactly why I’ve always wondered why the black community supports the Democrats. The Democrats think so little of the black race that they think they should be given special treatment for things or given things for free because they aren’t capable of achieving otherwise. How can people not have enough pride to reject this premise?

My wife's aunt done the DNA for ancestry reasons and came back like 11% African American.
