The Dem’s Greatest Blunder

I’ve wondered this for about 8 years now, but with RBG’s death it really highlights this. Why did they not have RBG retire under Obama in order to guarantee he got to name her successor and put another liberal on the bench? He had 8 years to do it, and she was well past her prime and already suffering from many maladies.

Greed...and arrogance that is why. They believed that there was no way Hillary would lose. Why waist a pick in Obama’s tenure when they though they had at least 4 more and maybe 8 more years. So they opted to take the gamble, fully believing the odds were in their favor to let her sit on SCOTUS so that Hillary could select her replacement. Obama had already picked 2, it would be reserved for Hillary as a crowning achievement.

I think someone will retire in the next 4 years so Trump can appoint another Justice that will be there for 30 years or so. If we are lucky maybe 2 will happen.

RBG didn't. I mean if someone really loves their job, I get they don't want to retire. But I know at 80, I am going to be wanting to do a lot of other things besides work.
