I remember Abbott said he would not shut down the state again. Yes, I know those were just words and he could try to shut down but I like to think he is smart enough to know that is not the answer.
Plus you have counties like ours where they are writing & requesting from abbott to allow a shutdown...now I hear they may have us on or nearing another curfew.

Yep. He was the best governor we've ever had, until March. Complete 180.

I agree he has pulled a 180, and I am very disappointed. That said, he is in a very unique situation, and I don't envy it for a minute.

It's definitely a tough situation. But leaders have to lead, and governors should stick to the constitution - even when it's hard and/or unpopular with a bunch of fearful people who are willing to give up their freedom for what they believe to be safety. He's gonna be hated by half the people no matter what he does. He's trying to find a middle ground in an attempt to please everyone. That never works. Using big government power to take freedom away from the people is bad. He knows it too. That's why it's so disappointing. If he had always been a progressive big government control guy, it would still be wrong. But it wouldn't be such a shocking disappointment.

As usual Shane, I couldn't have said it better myself!! That's pretty much how I feel too, and I'm going to do everything I can to work hard to primary his *** out of office unless he straightens out real dang quick, fast and in a hurry... It won't however be some transplant from NEW JERSEY!!

Abbott came out last night and said he absolutely will not shut down again. He said he gets asked hundreds of times a day.

That would be great if he stands his ground, hasn't been done much by any Republican since 08.
