The field itself is changing names at the request of the Joe Jamail Family. The field was named after Joe Jamail, a great friend and benefactor to UT athletics. His family requested the change to honor two of his favorite players, Ricky Williams and Earl Campbell. I believe I read this conversation with the family and UT started before the Eyes of Texas issue and something the family wanted to do.Comment

Gotcha, thanks for good info. But Ricky Williams....? I cant see naming anything for someone thats good at running. Things should be named for people who've done good things for our country or state....
