What does a positive test mean?

    What do your results mean?
    If you test positive
A positive test result shows you may have antibodies from an infection with the virus that causes COVID-19. ]However, there is a chance a positive result means that you have antibodies from an infection with a virus from the same family of viruses (called coronaviruses), such as the one that causes the common cold.

The antibody test is a blood drawn test. Which is different from the swab test to check for current infection. Is that correct?

          So....

A negative is negative (assuming no human error), but a positive may be the Wuhan Flu or the common cold.

Great. How many of the new reported cases are a result of more testing ( hence more positives) or false covid19 positives?

I've heard that that positive antibody tests are being counted in the "confirmed" category and also heard that they aren't.

There's so much hearsay out there its hard to know whats true any more.

Does anyone know if the antibody positives are/aren't being counted in the "confirmed" category?

Is antibody testing considered more or less accurate than a PCR test?

I will add this as my company is performing antibody testing. There is a difference in the nasal swab for current infection and the blood test(finger stick) for antibodies(past infection).

There is a drawn blood test that medical centers are using for pre surgery testing as well and that too is different.

All are different but IMO, I think they are all getting counted.

They admit to 50-70% accuracy on the swab test, which means it's closer to 30%. Essentially, it's worthless. In fact it's less than worthless, it's detrimental to the current situation.

Its all crap. Just wear the worthless mask and continue to be panic until they tell you to stop.

Good point to add. Our team researched about 50 tests and there are only a few that are even approved vendors by the CDC. So in reality, they shouldn't even be making tests but companies are purchasing them.

The best swap test is 74% accurate. It's a mess for sure.

Worse than that: Anyone who has had contact or live in the same house hold as a "positive" is then counted a "probable" and automatically included in the "cases number."

Do you have a source for this? I've suspected it but haven't found any documentation.
