    What's the consensus?

So the LE has sworn an oath to up hold the law and to serve and protect. What the actual wording of that oath is I don't honestly know but I am thinking (maybe incorrectly) that a lot of officers have not held to their oath as they have stood down at the request of mayors.
Does the mayor really have the authority to authorize such orders or directives?
What does this really say about our rule of law as a whole across the country.
I understand that this is a very difficult time for many police forces and not everything is black and white, but when you cut to the chase I tend to say that it really is black and white with no room for shades of grey.

Exactly, grey is what got us where we are.

I would imagine life in prison thoughts may slow down some of the response towards black peoples illegal activities, unfortunately

Not kicking dust up at you but there were other races involved in all of The rioting, looting and property destruction.
