Soon, they'll all go the way of the "Frito-Bandito"... Sombody gotta be all butt-hurt over just about everything these days... I mean, they took the flag off the roof of the General Lee!! Heck, now they'll probably not even be able to name the car the General Lee...
Sad messed up world we have let evolve, all because of the "silent majority" remaining silent... Thinkin' it may be too late to fix it now... and cartoon characters will soon be the least of our worries.Last edited by SaltwaterSlick; 06-08-2020, 10:53 AM.

What happened to fathers, Uncles, Grandpa’s teaching youngsters about proper gun safety and respect for firearms? I know this crowd still probably does that but our society has strayed from that very important lesson.
Heck, my father made me treat my toy guns just like a real firearm.
I knew better than to even touch a gun before age 14 or so if an “approved” adult wasn’t present - I’d have been skinned alive if I broke that rule. However, by age 7 or 8 I knew how to safely check to see if almost any type of firearm was loaded or not - and was reminded about a million times if I was at a friends house and “found” a firearm I was to check to see if it was unloaded, unload it it wasn’t, and put it in a safe location, and immediately call an adult.
Guns were no big deal in my household - if I wanted to check out one or go shooting, one of the adult men in my family helped me and used it as an additional teaching moment and reinforced gun safety. There was no mystery to firearms that made me want to sneak around and check one out without someone knowing. I also learned that once you pull the trigger you can’t bring the bullet back; and thus I was responsible for whatever that bullet hit: property, animal, human, whatever. Murder or accidental shootings weren’t cool or intriguing but something of the worst kind of shame that a person could commit.
It taught me a lot about being responsible and accountable for my actions - more kids could use these lessons. That’s what’s wrong with our society, responsibility and self-accountability. It’s not a firearms problem but rather a people problem in our society.
