its a system that has been fraught with monopolistic corruption for many years. this is now a level of gouging, and collusion, that makes it evident that there is no rule of law at the corporate top level, in this country.

its been this way a long time, but now, they dont even care that we know about it. if we raise enough hell, the punishment will be fines of 100 million, for theft of 10-20 billion.

red china has more business integrity than the usa at this point. red china would hang these packers for stealing billions. congress and the white house, and staff, are a joke. all of them.

Talked to a rancher buddy of mine about this yesterday. Said he had a guy want to buy a steer off him. My buddy was all for It. Guy got back with him and there were two problems. One, he couldn’t find a freezer anywhere to store It. Two, the butcher he contacted was busy until OCTOBER!!!!

We're luck to have deer Moose and some elk and beef in the freezer. I call the local locker we use to order a quarter and he told me they are sold out until October. The other one is completely out. Its going to get crazy again.

I hate our local butcher, he has all the equipment and space and man power, but refuses to butcher any animals not bought from heartland beef :mad says he has a reputation of only butchering the top quality meat
He doesn’t work with our local JR Livestock show either
Never will use them for deer processing ever again

I yall know anyone in the Central Texas area that is thinking of killing off their steer let me know. Ill gladly give them a couple hundred bucks and come get one. Ill just process like I do deer and nilgai. Driveway, knives, grinder and sealer and figure I can get it done in a day.

the numbers add up. the packers are making 2,000+ per animal, this is for possessing the cattle for LESS THAN ONE WEEK!

it adds up. "feeder flash" on youtube does the math.

I’m kind of lost here. What does this guy want the packers to do, pay more for the cattle or sell the meat for less? In business you sell your product for what the market dictates. If he wants them to pay more for the cattle who are the handful of lucky ranchers that are going to get in on that deal? The idea of capping their profits and giving the rest to ranchers just seems a little liberal to me. Processing plants are shut down, only so many cattle can be processed a day, great time to be a processor and still have your doors open. Personally I don’t know any ranchers hauling calves to the sale barn this time of year, we calve in Dec/Jan and sell around Sept. Right now I would think the feed lots are the ones taking the beating.

Just the opposite. He wants the market to return to true pricing. Watch these in order.

Can you imagine a business model in which you get to tell your suppliers how much you will pay for things and you set the price for your buyers? Is that a true competitive market? Is that fair market pricing?

That's exactly what is happening in the meat industry. Not just cattle but hogs, chickens, and dairy.

That’s exactly what Walmart’s business model is.
