I saw in Fox News this morning that NY has told all EMS to not resuscitate heart attack victims. Was that a hoax because i would have thought that would have gone viral.

"New York state officials have scrapped controversial new guidelines that directed emergency service workers not to attempt to revive anyone without a pulse when they arrive on a scene during the coronavirus pandemic.
State Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker “rescinded” the “do-not-resuscitate” order put out by his Bureau of Emergency Medical Service on Wednesday — just hours after The Post exclusively reported on it.."

Their logic is if the person without a pulse had corona, resuscitation is the very likely to expose the people performing it the corona.
An ethical dilemma for some. Personally, given the high survival rate, I'd give someone who had corona mouth-to-mouth resuscitation if there was a slim chance it'd save them. If it was something like MERS on the other hand, you'd better hope you're kin to me or someone else was around to roll the dice.

It’s more common than you think. As a paramedic, we aren’t working CPR on pts that are Covid positive or positive for all screening questions. Our bosses reasoning is because working a CPR in the field would expose all of us to it at a much higher rate.
On a personal level I don’t agree with it, nor does most of my department.
