And we did this to our economy why again?

"Our data suggests that COVID-19 has an infection fatality rate that is in the same ballpark as seasonal influenza."

"Our Santa Clara seroprevalence study is now out. It shows 50-85 times underestimated number of infections, therefore 50-85 times overestimated infection rate fatality. True infection rate fatality is in the ballpark of seasonal influenza."

    Dr. John Ioannidis

Very complicated issue. You have to lean on the side of caution when there is an unknown. I have never agreed with the shutdown and voiced it early on and have been cooked for it on TBH. What I don't understand now is why the sluggish opening of everything? The virus is here- its real- it is very similar to flu numbers with higher infection rate probably. We put a deep gash in our arm by being or the side of caution- why go ahead and chop the hand off now when you have researchers that say you don't have to?

The suspicious in me thinks they haven't quite dotted all the I's and crossed the T's in some "We Will Save You" bill they've been working on... similar to the so called "Patriot Act." They will not come out of this empty handed... We The People will lose, again.

I give it about a week before the left and their lapdog media switch their narrative to "TRUMP OVERREACTED!!! DESTROYED OUR ECONOMY!!! RUINED LIVES!!! IMPEACH, IMPEACH, IMPEACH!!!"

          Thinking the same thing.

We (or some of us) saw this coming 4-6 weeks before our politicians.
We talked about this antibody testing 3-4 weeks before any City or State used it.
We can clearly see it's overblown and nothing should be shut down...

Why the crap does it take them so long to do anything? IMO a lot of them should be in prison for not acting sooner. If all of us bow hunters knew 2 weeks ago the fatality rate was much much lower they have no excuse. And I get sick thinking they (them Dems) will drag this out as long as they can...Another week? 2? 3? or 4? ***?

One can only hope they do this..For the economy's sake.

But they won't They will do there best to keep everything locked down to harm us all as much as possible.

Trump needs to come out NOW and say States need to open up. Then if/when they don't we can blame Dems...

So does this make it more of a big deal then the flu? Cause I remember a whole bunch of folks on here saying COVID19 isn't as bad as the flu. No lie, I'm sick of being cooped up. My wife and I are small business owners and have furloughed 4 employees, this is hurting but we are blessed enough to be ok for now. But I'm concerned that as we open things up we may see a spike in infections and deaths. Best believe, if dems can show that in states that opened against medical advice, there was a correlated spike, they will ride that horse all day long. What happens if they open this up and all heck breaks loose? Do you shut it all down again?

This whole thing has been confirmation for me that we cant depend on the federal government to do ANYTHING quickly. In an emergency, we are pretty much on our own. Still not enough PPE in hospitals, still taking a long time to get results in some cases and the test don't work very well at that, can't get Hydroxychloroquine paid for by insurance because it's not approved for COVID19, etc. These antibody test should be all over the place at this point. Ridiculous.

Not to me. Check out the charts Dr. Birx showed the other day. 2019-20 is about the 3rd worst year for flu like illnesses in the last decade.

anywhere between 1 percent and 5 percent of Americans may have actually already been infected with the virus. But that’s far short of the 50 percent to 70 percent required to achieve herd immunity.
Which we will never achieve being locked away and "distancing" the "herd".

You just have to wait 12-18 months for the vaccine

This is what makes me question everything
Even though the data shows we should be going back to work everyone is still full blast on setting the new normal. Shows over folks go about your way!

No. The virus is here and it’s not going to just disappear. When we return to socializing it’s going to spike again but it’s just the way it is. Those that are most vulnerable need to take care of themselves and everyone else may as well face the fact that you will likely get it and survive and as a result build an immunity.
