To hell with their vaccine, their flu vaccines don’t even work. Herd immunity is the answer. If we don’t get some exposure, next fall will be worse.

Your infection rate and spike in deaths do not match. You cannot even tell me how many people have died from direct complications of this virus! If you quote any of the garbage the media has spoon fed you then you are lost.

I am going to tell you just like I tell my wife, just because we open up does not mean the virus disappeared. Should have never closed or we should never open. Your argument around hospital bed shortages has been debunked.

What about the people out and about every single day working? Not one person on my job site has been sick. For all of you who have not left the house since this started, the city is still moving every single day. There are less people but people everywhere and we still don’t have a major spike. Crazy.

What if they open up and there is no spike in infections? What then, was this a freaking scam.

This is b s. Let those of us who are older take the proper precautions and let folks get back to work. Wife told there were still patients coming into e r and being treated for covid. Understandable but you can’t ruin our economy.
And all the radio stations are spewing this shat as well. Heard Dean and Roge this morning talking about “how afraid” they were to go to the supermarket. Then they started spewing about closing the grocery stores down to where people can’t come in and shop even while following guidelines.
Speaking of guidelines and “science” just last week these bastiges were saying that being confined in tight spaces ( your house with others) was one of the worst ideas and that being outside where wind and elements can disperse virus was most logical.
Folks my wife has been working in the covid unit since this started and our special needs son was working at HEB sacking groceries until I pulled him out for other folks safety since I had a relative actively working in the covid unit.
Something stinks to high heaven here and just isn’t adding up. “Stay at home to stay safe.” Science says get in the outdoors to disperse the virus. WTH?
Yes the virus will kill your arse but we live in the same home with a covid nurse, follow guidelines, and we’re fine.

The virus will play out regardless. Even if we can "flatten the curve", all that would do is extend the time it takes for all the inevitable infections to happen. It will do zero to make the virus disappear. Prolonging it creates more risk for the elderly and the weak, as it prolongs the time it takes for the virus to run its course and increases the opportunities for them to become infected. They're sheltering and quarantining. The sooner the virus runs its course, the better.

And if you apply some critical thinking to the wisdom of the current government shutdown procedures, it's hard to see where they are amounting to a net benefit toward flattening the curve anyway. By shutting down all the small businesses and allowing only a few big box stores and grocery stores to remain open, we are concentrating people in a few places rather than allowing them to spread out more, as usual. And by trying to force people to stay indoors in their homes, we're losing the benefit of fresh air and sunshine. We're also increasing the risk for people who live in apartment complexes, high rise buildings, group homes, and other multi-family living arrangements. Whatever benefit we may be getting from all the shelter in place stuff is being offset by all of the above.

The virus is going to run its course, regardless of what we do. There are already reports that show this. The virus follows a similar pattern, whether a state/country shuts everything down or stays open. NYC is an outlier, mostly because everybody in that place lives and works and commutes in big huge piles of humanity. Nobody lives in a house. Nobody drives their own car. Nobody has a stand-alone business building. Everybody is piled on top of each other there, like cattle in a feedlot. Any virus is going to run rampant in that type of situation. And shutting things down there doesn't change any of that either. They're still piled on top of each other in their apartment buildings and on the subway rides to the toilet paper store.

We CAN do something about whether we kill the economy or not though. We better get focused on that pretty quick. All the frightened folks can stay holed up in their houses as long as they want. But they need to stop trying to force the rest of us to go along with their irrational panic.

Some of y'all need to stay under the porch where it's safe... and let the rest of the world go on with their lives.

Naturally not all of them but their chances will surely increase. I said in a previous post it's your choice. I'm not attacking anyone for their choice simply stating that some choices give you a higher chance of catching the virus or becoming a vector to give it to others.

Much like eating at a restaurant, hunting from a tree stand, charter boat fishing, driving to work, going on vacation, hunting in the mountains, riding a motorcycle, scuba diving, etc.... All those things have more risks than watching tv from the couch. January 2020 free Americans could decide for themselves which risks were worth it. April 2020, not so much.

Some choices give you a higher risk for many things. The risk involved here is less than it was going to work in traffic the week before the shutdown.

                    We've been lied to...

Yes sir. And I am capable of deciding for myself what risk I want to take or not take. I don't need the government to decide for me. And I sure don't want a bunch of panicked irrational people deciding for me and my family either. I'll leave it up to them to decide for themselves as well.

I'm seeing people driving around in their cars - alone - with the windows rolled up and wearing masks. Why? How are they going to catch a virus while driving in their car alone? How are they going to infect someone else with a virus they don't even know they have while riding around in their car alone?

And that's being generous with the supposed effectiveness of a cotton cloth mask loosely hanging over their face. What ever happened to critical thinking?

I try to have patience, but it's all I can do.....

I will never understand the people who have watched, listened, and lived through the past two months, and still think the best course of action is quite literally “to do nothing“ The mental gymnastics required to reach that conclusion are mind-boggling.

Well said as usual Shane and Moser. This is beyond ridiculous.

We have worked every day since all this bs started except days where we were rained out. No one on our crews has gotten sick whatsoever and fingers crossed that nobody will. If we do then we get over it and keep on living.

My wife has worked every day as well in our child care facility. Dealing with 140 kids and their parents every day. Having to check everyones temp before entering the building. Not one of them have gotten sick and neither has any of the parents or children.

If we were to listen to the government media and the chicken littles on here we should have all gotten this horrible virus and many of us may not have made it. It amazes me how many have bought into this and still continue to.
We all need to get on with our lives and businesses while we still have somewhat of an economy left

I’m with y’all. Open this dam thing up. The numbers are all created to place fear in people. I have been in grocery stores multiple times a week for the past couple months and see people acting stupid. Practice basic hygiene and go on with life.

We had a family friend pass away late last month with “covid type symptoms” they got declared a covid death.
