    Hypothetical...

So I've seen alot of talk about how this is all hogwash. I'm not on that side. I think taking smart measures to avoid spreading things unnecessarily is smart.

I've read how its affected younger guys on here and that's increased the pucker factor for me a little, but statistically everything's still "fine".

    HOWEVER
I do not like the way govt overreach has gone totally unchallenged. I understand that these are sort of one of the few things they're actually supposed to do. I dont necessarily agree with legislating out stupidity. Like the playgrounds, someone else made the point that you're statistically more likely to get hit by a car but we dont have national shutdowns and freak outs over that. And that's something we actually can legislate the stupidity out of lol.

At what point do people just say no? Especially on the employment side? We have TONS of infrastructure now for most people being able to work from home. We have tests and tools to keep people healthy and screen for issues. We're about to be past the "curve apex". And measures have tightened down. If we get past and things haven't lightened up, when do you say no? When do you get back to work? When do you go play on the playground despite our wonderful tax dollars being spent to put caution tape over them? If you have a largely healthy population, when do you get them back to work?

I'm not anti-safe measures. I'm just for common sense and tired of people just blindly accepting govt orders without question. My wife and her friends wont see each other at all because of fear. Just getting ticked off.

I probably really need to just go fishing and get off the GS and put off work lol

This morning on the way to work was a clear indication to me that a lot of people are getting back to work, a lot of traffic on most roads. I hit the road around 6 am between S/W Austin & Drippin Sprg. & travel to Hutto. The early traffic tells me general construction is getting ramped back up. Roads were almost empty 2 weeks ago.

I think must of us have been expressing exactly this. Ive been hearing for the last 1.5 days we should avoid going to the grocery store for the next 2 weeks. Screw them.

Exactly what some of us have been saying this whole time.
We never stopped working and will continue to do so unless forced to stop. The bills dont stop and our guys need to feed their families so we will keep on going!

Think it was you n for sure Dale that got me thinking about that originally. Just been building on my mind this past week, especially with the closure of state parks.

Here is Cuomo's thought on the subject. I heard the quote on fox but looked it up. Sounds like he wants to draw it out for a while?

"How do you get back to work as quickly as possible? It's going to come down to testing. You're going to have to know who had the virus, who resolved the virus, who never had it. And that's going to be testing," he said.

New York recorded 731 new coronavirus deaths on Monday in its worst day yet of the outbreak. But despite the rising death toll and infections, there was a bit of good news from the governor on Tuesday.

              Not directed at you!

How can the whole US shut down over 4 or 5 hot spots. Let NY, Washington, louisianna, parts of Cali, and Miami just shut down. Make those people stay there.

I believe if they tested for the presence of antibodies in people, we would learn that this has been around, in the US, since at least October, and this whole shut down is a scam.

I'm curious how testing for antibodies would let us know how long this has been around. Do the test tell you when the person developed these antibodies? If not, how would we know how long it's been around.

Easy. You test people who were very sick that went to their Doctor and tested negative for the flu. If they test positive for COVID you know when they had it.
Hundreds of thousands supposedly tested negative for flu in Dec/Jan.

Start there. Let these "expert" pandemic idiots correct their charts accordingly.
