This is a time when we should be helping those in need. I have a huge problem with how we run our welfare program day in and day out, but I have no problem with providing temporary assistance to those that would otherwise be producing.
    Agree!!

This Trillion dollar stimulus, just gets us closer to the day we have to pay the piper for the National deficit. We will eventually have to default on the deficit, its going make this virus thing look like a cake walk. I don’t know when, but that day is coming!

………...and that is a hard cold FACT. Guess we either loose our sovereignty as a nation or go to war...……..again!

Consider the strain and repercussions of just paying out money to families for a one time stimulus. Then ponder the thought of the socialist dems wanting to do that every month forever. Wouldn't take long to realize there is nothing left in the coffers.

The people getting stimulated now won’t feel as stimulated around tax return time. When it gets cut out of their tax return.

Yep. Nothing is free. Our economy is a house of cards. We have allowed ourselves to be subject to the whims of other entities. We have sold our soul to the lowest bidder. So many of the the products we need to function are made by hostile nations ( either overt or covert ) that if we went to war for real, they could kill us economically. We no longer have the manufacturing base we once had. We arent even set up to supply all our own gasoline/fuel despite the fact we are the largest oil supplier in the world! Its truly bizzare. We have to buy, directly or indirectly, oil from terrorist states ( saud is a terror state whether we recognize it or not ) to use in some of our refineries because they arent set up to use domestic. We get the vast amount of our med supplies from communists! Oh but our service ecomomy is awesome! Oh wait, this over reaction is killing our fake propped up service economy.

We have forgotten. Autonomy, energy and manufacturing is what wins wars and earns the respect of the world. Not cool apps and manbuns.

Sounds like the bill is changing a bit. Not sure if the stipulations have been put out yet:

The coronavirus economic relief bill being finalized by the U.S. Congress will include a one-time $3,000 payment for families and allow the Federal Reserve to leverage up to $4 trillion of liquidity to support the nation's economy, U.S. Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said on Sunday. Mnuchin, speaking on the "Fox News Sunday" television program, said the additional liquidity measures would allow the U.S. central bank to help a broad base of businesses to get through next 90 to 120 days. Trump administration officials hoped to finalize the legislation on Sunday and see a vote on Monday, Mnuchin said, adding that further steps could be taken if the crisis did not abate in 10 to 12 weeks.

Govt: You have to pay taxes
                    Me: ok, how much?
Govt: you have to figure it out
Me: so I can pay whatever I want?
Govt: no. We know exactly how much you owe us. But you have to figur it out
                    Me: what if I miscalculate?
Govt: then we will garish your wages, charge you penalty fees, and possibly confiscate your property
                    Me:This game suxs...

This "Stimulus Package" is a a terribly small band aid on a bleeding artery. However, something needs to be done to help out American Workers who are going to lose their source of income due to this virus. Any politician trying to attach any other special interest funding "political gesturing" to this proposal needs to be placed in a prison cell and immediately removed from office. The "Moral Majority" is getting tired of the BS. This "WILL" affect future taxation.

Life is about decisions we make every single day. Each of us, are responsible for our decisions and how they affect our life's path. Things happen to us all. Regardless of how much money you earn, the amount you spend and where you "choose" to spend it is how your income affects your life. I know "Rich" people who are in debt up to their necks who continually make bad "choices" and lower middle class individuals with no debt at all because they make good "choices".

If you get a check, use it wisely. If you don't get a check, don't be butt hurt, you probably really do not need it anyway.

Good idea, but the gubmint needs to let the restaurants open back up for this to work.

Unless you fall into the group you mentioned in the same post.
