I am surprised that more folks have not gone down that road of...…..reflection! If it is or isnt I am not one to answer that question. I do know we are in it, thus we must lean on everything at our disposal. Religion, science and common sense can all exist in the same room when it gets to nutt cutting time.

That specific scripture in its context was for that specific people, in that place, at that time and shouldn't be stretched to try to apply it to this situation. Scriptures are full of great truths that do apply to us in their proper context. This isn't one of them.

However, we should definitely Humble ourselves, pray, seek to obey God, and turn from sin on a daily basis...not just during a circumstance that scares you.

Nothing to worry about. You are either ready to meet your Maker or you aren’t but COVID-19 doesn’t have anything to do with Biblical scripture. Let’s not turn this into an End of Days scenario.

God can and has sent a pestilence on the land and the people in times past and certainly the end times are to come with so much worse than this, but like Pineywoods said....be right with God on a daily basis. Seek Him daily with all your heart. We don't have fear in our home, only peace.

Man I disagree. There are a ton of scriptures that are just as applicable today. If there’s nothing to be learned and those scriptures of the past (that would be ALL of them), aren’t for us, then why was the Bible left for us ??

Make no mistake fellas, my bags are packed.

I simply pointed something out as it relates to scripture. Not making this an end of days anything.
On that, Not even the Son knows.....

I see your old testament and raise you the new testament, aka, the new coveneant:

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life."

                      John 3:16

Please don't misunderstand...I rely heavily on the whole word of God and believe all of it is profitable for us as believers. I didn't say they aren't for us to learn from, and alot if not most of the promises and scriptures in the old and new testament do apply to all believers. Some promises, passages, and specific prophecies, however, were specific for that person or people at that specific time in the context of what was happening at that time. That passage was a response to Soloman's prayer and was talking about the Jewish people at that time. There are some great generic truths that we can apply to us out of it but I don't believe that the wildfires, locusts, and covid were spoken of here. If that's not what you were implying, I apologize. I've just seen a lot of scripture taken out of context lately. On the bright side, I have seen more people turning to their bibles for answers.

I do love that people are looking at this through a biblical lens.

James 5:13 -20 says righteous people should pray about this situation and those prayers will make a difference! I beg all of you who believe upon Jesus to seriously pray on behalf of our country and its leaders as well as all who are in charge! We must also beg forgiveness for the blatant sin that is tolerated in the USA.

When your washing your hands for 20 seconds say a 20 second prayer probably do more for you than the hand washing.

Hope I didn’t come off as not believing the Word, I just do not feel this relates or is referring to our current situation.
