Older parents that are diehard Democrats.

I'm 50 years old and my mother is Democrat. Only because her mother and father was. Shes conservative when you talk about singular issues. She doesn't believe she aligns more on the right than the left. To top it off she's getting a touch of dimencha. She asked me if I was voting for Trump tomorrow and I told her no and she accused me of lying. I told her he wasn't on the ballot tomorrow and still doesn't believe me. Anyone else with problems like this?

Feel blessed your mother is still here sir. How many on here dont have their mom anymore? Democrats were totally different in her hay day, and that's what she knows. My parents came thru the civil rights era the hard way and that's what they know. Something like politics is so low on my radar with them being in their late 80's. We definitely have more pressing concerns and neither of them are suffering with dementia. [emoji120] Chose wisely as time with mom is precious.

I’m 38 and the only people I know who are Democrats are one of my best friends parents from Dothan Alabama. They are some of the finest people I’ve ever met but they are old school dems and I would have never known they were dems if My buddy wouldn’t have warned me.

What’s really weird is I don’t really know any gay people either.

My wife is from California so she has her fair share of Dems on her side. I usually don't talk politics. I did learn that I could save money on Christmas by talking politics at Thanksgiving.

My mother is also a democrat because she doesn't know God. You see God says homosexuality is a choice, drunkenness is a choice, adultery is a sin, marriage is sacred and so on. She thinks alcoholism is a disease, hmmm, never seen a disease that you have to open the top and drink it to get it and repeat over and over to keep it. She thinks gay people were just born that way, God says it is an abomination to him. She says she is a fan of Jesus haha but can't say his name. So w/o the truth I guess you will believe whatever makes you feel comfortable, self gratifying.
I love my mother but when I got "born again" from above I was no longer her favorite child.

My grandmother was....Obama sucking and Trumps successes and she is on the Trump train now at 98.
Most old folks seem to think FDR was something special, reality is their suffering in the Great Depression was extended many more years than it had to.

The only gay person I know well is a staunch conservative with a Trump sticker on his car window. If he ever got beaten up, would it still be considered a hate crime?

My MIL is from Montana, grew up in a cattle and farming family. She wont vote any other way but Democrat. She hates Trump and watches CNN....go figure.

Mom is one of the most intelligent people I know...self employed & now retired, but all she watches is the msm & just hates trump, period. By all rights, she should be right leaning but has always used feelings instead of her brain with politics. Perfect example of what the lefty news can do to folks. Well, I was born a democrat and raised a democrat. I have never voted for one.
If my folks were still alive they wouldn't be voting for democrats either. Funny how the two parties have switched to the other's way of thinking. I'm proud to be an outcast.
