They do not deal cartel to FBI ( or any US branch of government for that matter). They don't want it. Never have. They know they'll be beat.

This was a huge mistake by someone. They'll pay.

This crap could be stopped in a few weeks if our government and the Mexican government weren't so corrupt.. Its all about the money folks. Always has been, always will be...

Bingo, I'd bet the farm there are just as many cartel lobbyists in DC as there are pharmaceutical lobbyists.

I read another article where they are stating one child is still missing, but not hearing any follow up??
Seen articles that 12-18 are missing/thought kidnapped.. but thats impossible because it was all a mistake.

I've talked to several, and several conversations with the cartel themselves. They don't want us anywhere near them. And specifically do not want us ( The U.S) involved into their corrupt business.

They are saying they were in a crossfire between rivals but aren't saying which groups...read the article on borderlandbeat.

Sounds like the community was refusing to pay bribe $$$ & had federal support from the previous admin...quote:

Given the threats of organized crime, the LeBarón family and the Mennonite community in Galeana, Chihuahua, had been supported by a group of Federal Forces of the PF for some years to patrol the area.

The inhabitants paid the food and lodging of a company made up of about 90 elements, but with the arrival of the new federal government, the troops were withdrawn.

It was probably retaliation of some sort, not mistaken identity.

Yup. Not all Cartel business involves drugs. They have been making moves into farming for years now. Plus, the always needed human trafficking and drug routes. I can very easily see this being a message to anyone who chooses to not entertain their "business opportunities". It isn't like these were tourists that just found themselves in the middle of cartel territory.

Or as another poster mentioned, retaliation for past mixups.

DC revolves around corruption and money so you bet there is....

I bet its just a coincidence that the headquarters of the "Texas Syndicate" is located in Austin too..

A buddy of mine mentioned there was a documentary done on this family that long ago got kicked out of utah because of their drug ties. The cartel had come to them and wanted to partner up, so they relocated to mexico.

Sounds like some business retaliation to me. You don't just live in a mormon community in Mexico just because....

                            Terrible situation, but...

The Mennonite and Mormon offshoots in Mexico have internal factions that are drug and human traffickers and have been for decades. I worked for the US Govt along the border and did tours in Mexico and South America. This is not really a surprise to anyone, maybe a crossfire, maybe retaliation, maybe a mistaken id, but I seriously doubt if any official action or sanctions by the USG is taken.

Until Mexico decides to turn aside it's idealistic nationalism and ask for USA assistance nothing will change. It took Columbia years of terror and losing almost the equivalent of the entire cabinet and Supreme Court to bombings before they swallowed their pride and allowed the US to intervene. Mexico is a failed state with no rule of law.

Lol, my thoughts. People that hunt/travel there will forever be in denial. I don't get it, never will. I don't have to get it I guess, but all for a deer? I hear people that travel there all the time say "I've never felt unsafe while in Mexico". LOL! If you ever feel unsafe it's too late. I bet that family didn't feel unsafe either until they were full of bullet holes. I have several buddies that hunt there and kill huge deer. The other day one of them went down with his wife and 7 year old daughter and spent a week. He dropped his wife off 2 miles from camp and let her walk (by herself) to camp because she likes to look for arrow heads. I actually stood there in disbelief as he told me that. This was just after a conversation about how they put a new pipeline across their lease and the cartel were using it to travel so they hired dozers to make it impassible. I love my buddy but that's a special kind of stupid and he's not a stupid guy. He's a plant manager with 250 employees. Unreal....all for a deer???
