There was a rep from Ohio on the news who is going to introduce legislation addressing the concern of due process...will have to see what they ultimately come up with, but his angle did have where any sort of confiscation having to be ordered by a judge vs some accusation.
I'm just glad they are already talking about it. I'm sure there will also be something introduced that is clearly in violation of our constitution.

EVERY single American should be very upset and oppose Red Flag Laws. Period...
Afraid we're already sliding down the slippery slope. Just remember in the future when it's your turn...I pray we the people don't go down one at a time (like this guy) and everyone else make excuses why "this one" is acceptable.

Senator John Cornyn Visits North Texas Discussing Potential Laws To Address Mass Shootings
GRAPEVINE, Texas (CBSDFW.COM) – Following the deadly shootings in El Paso and Dayton, Ohio, President Donald Trump and some Republicans, including Texas Senator John Cornyn, say they’re willing to consider red flag laws to keep guns away from people who shouldn’t have them.
Some conservatives say they’re not convinced, something Sen. Cornyn acknowledged. “There is a concern about due process and about abuses, but we’re interested trying to do whatever we can to save more lives.”
In Grapevine Thursday, Senator Cornyn said lawmakers need to also consider making it easier for professionals to share information about potentially dangerous people before they act.

There are only a handful of people allowed to do file petitions under the new law.
Law enforcement
Health professional
Spouse or family member
Someone the person is dating or has children with
Current or former legal guardian
My bet is a family member filed the petition, but that is just speculation.
